为学生复习总结有关个性与职业的词汇,创设游戏场景。
◎学法指导:活动过程中,参考短文中人物的个性与职业。积极表达自己的看法。
1.总结你知道的有关描述人物个性的词汇。
形容词:generous, careful, careless, modest, proud, creative, energetic, curious, organized, shy, serious, funny, outgoing, active, friendly...
短语:come up with, good ideas, like to talk with people, keep...in good order, show off, like to work with people, easy to work with, willing to work extra hours...

2.游戏。
准备工作:第一步,把表达职业的名词(如doctor等等)写在一组卡片上,背面朝上;第二步,把描述人物个性的形容词或短语(如modest, like to work with people 等等)写在一组卡片上,背面朝上。
游戏规则:3~5人一组展开活动。首先,任一同学在两组卡片中任意抽取一张;然后,根据所抽取的两张卡片内容谈论自己的性格与职业。不会描述或无法描述的退出游戏,坚持到最后的为赢家。
示例:如果抽取的卡片内容分别是doctor和modest,可以这样描述:I’m a doctor.I’m modest.I have saved many people’s lives, but I have never showed off.
3.完成教材Reading中B部分的练习。

◎用法总结:
give up意为“放弃”。常接名词、代词或动名词作宾语。如:
Don’t give up English.You’ll be successful.别放弃英语,你会成功的。
Smoking is a bad habit.Give it up soon! 抽烟是个坏习惯,尽快放弃它吧!(注意:代词作宾语时,要放在give up中间。)
It’s not wise to give up learning any of your subjects.放弃学习你的任意一个科目都是不明智的。

pay attention to意为“注意,留意”。这里的to是介词,不是动词不定式的标志词,它和look forward to中的to一样,后面接动词ing形式。如:
