66.Dear Ms. Wang,
Thank you for the love and care that you have shown for me, especially the third year of middle school. These days I have been studying hard and have made some progress. And everything has got along well with my senior high school entrance examination. Although there will certainly be difficulties and challenges in high school, I will certainly live up to your instruction and adapt to it as soon as possible, and strive to be admitted to my favorite university and live up to your expectations. Everything is going on well with me. Don’t worry!
Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua
67.One possible version:
Once they arrived at her house, Walk called out, “Mom, help! Someone is injured.” On hearing this, Walk’s mother came quickly with the first-aid box. She made the little girl sit on the sofa and started cleaning the wound. She cleaned her knee, applied medicine to the wound, and wrapped it with bandages, which made the girl relaxed. She then asked the girl where she lived. The girl replied that she had just moved here. All the houses looked so similar that she mixed them up. Walk was surprised and felt a bit of joy thinking about her wish.
The little girl looked at Walk and asked, “What is your name ” Walk froze and was scared to tell her name. However, Walk’s mother replied, “Her name is Walk and I am glad she could help you.” On hearing this, the little girl began to laugh. Walk felt sad and was near to tears. Just then, the girl stopped laughing and sincerely apologized, “I am sorry, but it is so funny as my name happens to be Run.” Walk was surprised and almost broke into laughter herself. Her wish for the river had come true, and now she had a very good friend named Run.

I waved goodbye to my senior high school life just six months ago and now I am a college freshman. However, my memory of high school life is so fresh that I feel as if it were only yesterday.
My senior high school is called Yantai No. 1 Middle School with a long history, which can date back to 1931. When I recall my memorable high school life, I feel blissful and impressed.
To be honest, my senior high school life was very tiring but I really enjoyed it. I was asked to put study in the first place all the time by both my parents and my teachers. At that time, I got up at 5:30 a.m. and went to bed late in order to have more study time to review what I had learned in the day. In addition to study, I also took part in some activities like English speech contests, calligraphy competitions and so on.
Our class was like a big family. I got along well with my classmates. We always discussed issues of all kinds after class. I made many friends in the family and we still keep in touch with each other after we graduated. Luckily, my teachers were also very enthusiastic and friendly. We were seen as their children. They not only taught us knowledge but told us how to do better.
What’s more, dormitory life is also worth mentioning. Living far away from my home, I became quite independent by the end of the first semester at senior high. My roommates and I worked as a team to do some cleaning every day. We had a good time living as a family together, and my social skills were gradually improved.
This is my high school life, busy but fulfilling. I will never forget it.

My sister Alice and I have been trying to get people to stop dropping cigarette butts (烟头) for seven years. One day, we were walking in our hometown and saw hundreds of cigarette butts on the ground. They made the town look so ugly that we decided to start a group to make people stop dropping butts. We called it “No Butts About It”.
At first, we drew pictures with “The Earth is not your ashtray (烟灰缸)” written on them. We put the pictures around our boomtown--in parks, by beaches, and along roads. We wanted to make people understand that dropping butts hurts the environment. Most smokers don’t think that dropping butts hurts the Earth. But it does, and all rubbish does!
Later, we wrote to companies and asked them for money to help us. We used the money to buy ashtrays to give to smokers. We wanted smokers to carry the ashtrays with them so they didn’t have to drop butts.
At the moment, we are trying to get cigarette companies to put an ashtray in each pack of cigarettes. Some companies want to do it. Many people have started to join our group since it began. Today there are 45 other “No Butts About It” groups in America
Now there are even groups in England, Australia, and India! Many newspapers have written about my sister and me over the last seven years. And we have won many prizes for what we have done. But we are not interested in prizes. We just want to make the Earth a better an cleaner place for animals, plants and people.
One day, it will be.

31.What can be the best tide for the text

Last week, Chicago became the first city in the US to join the “Lights Out Plan”. People turned off the lights in the city’s tallest buildings, so that thousands of birds could get to their winter homes. Every year in autumn, some birds fly over Chicago on their way to the south, and come back the next spring.
Lights mean danger to birds. Birds find their way by looking at the stars in the sky. Lights in tall buildings are so bright that birds may mistake them as stars. This means they cannot find the right way to go home.
This month, about 300 types of birds are flying over Chicago to go back to the south to live through the cold winter. Birds fly to warmer places for a few reasons. Many birds cannot live in the cold, so they fly to warmer places. But there are other reasons, too. Birds need to look for food in the south. Another reason is that they want to have baby birds. Many birds like to have their baby birds in the same “house” they lived in last year, so they fly back there.
There are about 9,000 kinds of birds in the world, and about 600 kinds of birds migrate. Some birds can fly a very long way. Sometimes they fly to other countries. We have fewer birds today because there are fewer places for birds.
32.Why did people in Chicago turn off their lights last week
A.Because people wanted to save money.
B.Because people liked the dark night.
C.Because people were a afraid that birds would make much noise.
D.Because people were a afraid that birds would lose their way.
33.What does the underlined word “migrate” mean in Chinese
A.move to a new place B.stay at the same place
C.sleep in winter D.lay eggs
34.Today we have fewer birds because ________.
A.lots of birds are often ill B.people kill lots of birds
C.there are fewer places for birds D.other animals eat them
35.Which of the following statements is NOT true
A.All birds fly to warmer places every year.
B.Some birds have to fly to warmer places in autumn.
C.Some birds can fly a long way to other countries.
D.About 600 kinds of birds migrate in the world.

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Walk. She was a good girl, but she never liked her name as all the kids around her made fun of her name. She ran away from everybody who laughed at her name, so Walk never really had friends. She would play alone all the time.
One day, Walk went to her favorite place near the river behind her house, where she always spoke to the river in her own way. Today, when talking to the river, she said, “You are so fortunate, as you get to travel to different places and always be with your friends—ducks, turtles, fishes, and plants. I wish I had more friends and wouldn’t be alone anymore.”
When she was bored talking to the river, she picked up some stones and tried to skip(打水漂)them across the river like her dad did. However, she failed most of the time. Finally, she found a perfect stone. She held it tightly in her fingers, and said to the river, “Oh, dear river, if I could skip this stone all the way across, I would wish for a dear friend just like you.” Saying this, Walk waved her arm back just like her dad had taught her and threw the stone with full strength.
She watched the stone skip once, twice... and to her amazement, the stone went on skipping and eventually, on the seventh skip, made it across the river onto the shore of the opposite side. Walk was totally amazed. She could not just believe her eyes.
Her deep thoughts and happiness were disturbed when she heard footsteps coming towards her. Walk looked around and found a little girl was rolling down towards her. Walk panicked and hurried to get up to help. However, she lost her balance and fell off too.
The little girl was crying and holding her knee. Walk pulled herself and went close to the girl, whose knee was bleeding. She said gently to the little girl, “It will be alright. My house is nearby, let me help you. My mother will take care of the wound.”
