A wallet misplaced during a romantic embrace has been returned to its forgetful owner after 55 years.
Two classic car collectors from the US state of Idaho found the wallet after it fell out of the back of a vintage(旧式的)car they were planning to restore. After an Internet search they found and contacted the owner, Glenn Goodlove. Mr. Goodlove said he probably lost the wallet in the back seat of his 1946 Hudson car when he was home on leave from the US Navy .
Jon Beck, 61, and Chuck Merrill, 72, bought the now-vintage vehicle in Idaho after placing an ad in a local newspaper to buy a classic car in need of restoration. Driving the car home after buying it, the collectors stopped at a restaurant and saw something from below the back seat.
“Like a couple of kids, we thought we had a goldmine,” Mr. Beck said. Instead, they found some small change—the leather wallet held a l0-dollar bill, Mr. Goodlove’s military ID, his social security card, his driver’s license and several jewellery receipts from 1952. But they were all in the name of Glenn Putnam.
After searching online, Mr. Beck discovered that Mr. Putnam had changed his name to Glenn Goodlove and moved to San Diego, California. He called Mr. Goodlove, asking to speak to a man who used to drive a 46 Hudson.
“There must have been a silence for about 15 seconds,” Mr. Beck told the Twin Falls Times-News. “Then he said, ‘Who is that ’” Mr. Goodlove, now 75, says he did not even remember losing the wallet, but the find has brought memories of his youth in Everett, Washington, flooding back. “I could see the house and the car and the town and all the good stuff from living there”, he said. “They’ve been following ever since he talked to me.”

Scientists in UK have grown a living human “brain”. The team at Aston University created tiny bunch of cells which act like a mini nervous system.
They believe it could help find a cure for worse mental conditions like Parkinson’s disease. Professor Michael Coleman is leading the research program. He explained, “We are aiming to be able to study the human brain at the most basic level, using an actual living human cell system. Cells have to be alive and operating efficiently to enable us to really understand how the brain works.” The experiment involves changing cells from a cancer tumour (肿瘤) and making them behave like brain cells.
Although far from finished, researchers hope the false brain cells will give them a greater understanding of how real brains work. This, in turn, could significantly further research into conditions which affect the brain. Neil Hunt, chief leader of the research group, said. “It is still very early days, but in the future the research could lead to a useful tool for looking into dementia (痴呆).”
The technique could also provide a way to carry on animal test and is being supported by the Humane Research Trust (HRT). The scientists predict that over the next ten years a million people will develop dementia. Professor Coleman believes their findings could change this. He said, “We hope our research will provide scientists with a new and highly relational human experimental model to help them understand the brain better and develop new drugs to control the related disease. However, the biggest challenge at present is that we are greatly short of fund, which will slow our research.”
64. According to Neil Hunt, research into brain cells .

A. giving examples. B. showing contrast
C. making explanations D. analyzing cause and effect

Less educated and less calm than his brother William, Britain's Prince Harry has occasionally found himself on the front pages of some tabloid(小报) for the wrong reason. Harry has admitted drinking underage and smoking marijuana (大麻) in the past. In January, 2006, he apologized after being pictured at a costume party dressed as a Nazi(纳粹). But one thing he has been serious about is going to Iraq to fight with his fellow soldiers. After completing training last year, he demanded a chance to serve.
As a child he collected military toys and his bedroom walls were covered with posters of helicopters and tanks. Despite his youth, the army has always held a special place in his heart.
“There’s no way I am going to sit back home while my boys are out fighting for their country,” he said in an interview to mark his 21st birthday. “That may sound patriotic (爱国的), but it’s true.” Perhaps this shows new strength in him.
Britain’s Defense Ministry announced Last week that the 22-year-old Harry would serve a six-month tour of duty in southern Iraq.
Harry said he was “over the moon” and has insisted he wants to be treated the same as any ordinary soldiers.

If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not trying hard enough.
It’s good to make mistakes. That’s not a typo, folks, and I have not lost my mind. It is good to make mistakes, and here’s why.
First of all, mistakes are a clear sign that you are trying new things. It’s always good to try new things because when you are trying new things you are growing. If you never try anything new, how can you improve How can you expand How can you innovate The simple answer is. “You can’t.” Look around you. With very few exceptions, either everything you see in your physical world or every single detail of every single thing is the result of someone trying something new.
Another good thing about mistakes is this. when you are making mistakes, you are learning. Consider this: Edison failed 10.000 times before he perfected the light bulb. When asked how he felt to fail that many times, he remarked that he hadn't failed 10,000 times. But rather had learned 10,000 things that didn’t work.
Finally, when you make a mistake, you are that much closer to success. Why Because when all is said and done, you will have tried some finite number of things before you succeed. Every time you make a mistake you eliminate(消除) one of those things and are one step closer.
But this all doesn't mean that you should forge ahead with disregard for the consequences of a mistake. Quite the contrary, when you try something new you have to be willing to set some reasonable limits so that, in the event that it doesn’t work out the way you want it to, you will be in a position to try again.
We all have limited resources in the form of time and money, so don’t blow them all on one approach to a problem. Realize that it probably won’t be perfect the first time and allocate these resources appropriately so you can learn, modify, and try it again. Only by embracing and using your mistakes in this way can you make significant advances in your business and your career.
There is an old axiom that goes, “If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not trying hard enough.”
So go forth and make mistakes. And learn. And grow. And prosper.
72. The underlined word “typo” means .
A. poor handwriting B. computer error
C. printing mistake D. bad typing
73. Which of the following isn’t suitable for the passage
A. Mistakes suggest that people are trying something new.
B. People can afford to make mistakes as long as they limit them.
C. Mistakes mean that people are getting closer to success.
D. People can draw lessons from their mistakes.
74. It’s good to make mistakes as long as .
A. they don't have side effects B. people avoid them quickly
C. they help people get well. D. people use them positively
75. What does the writer mainly tell us in the passage as far as mistakes are concerned
A. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. They are beneficial.
B. Try your best to make fewer mistakes. They are expensive.
C. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. They are unavoidable.
D. The more mistakes you make, the more advances you'll make.

写作一
Possible version :
From the above famous saying we can easily chaw the conclusion that the secret of success lies in one’s self-confidence.
Personally, I can’t agree with it more. This is because firstly, if you don’t believe in yourself how can you expect others to trust you Secondly, believing in yourself can make you very confident in everything you do and overcome the difficulties in life. Thirdly, you can always gain some inner strength with the encouragement of the two magic words “I can”, especially when you are in the middle of some tough job or when you are about to give up.
So let’s keep it in mind that if you want to succeed, you must believe in yourself.
写作二
Possible version:
Hello, everyone! It’s a great pleasure for me to be here to share my English learning experience with you.
As the saying goes, “Interest is the best teacher”. It’s impossible for us to learn English well without being interested in it. So the first thing I do is to get myself interested in English and enjoy it. Besides, I always try my best to build up my vocabulary as I know vocabulary is of ital importance in understanding what I read or listen to. So every day I will spend some time memorizing new words and reading China Daily. In addition, I often turn to my dictionary and grammar books for help whenever I meet some new words or when I cannot understand some grammatical problems.
All in all, English is learned but not taught. You should take responsibility for your study. If you want to improve your English, you should do more speaking, reading, writing and listening. Only in this way can you make progress in your English learning and I sincerely hope all of you can improve your English .
Thanks for your listening.
