Are you looking for some movies You’ve landed on the right place. Let’s take a look at the list I’ve collected.
A Beautiful Mind
A Beautiful Mind is the story of John Nash, a mathematician who went on to win the Nobel Prize for his Game Theory. This movie brings his whole journey on screen—from his beginning to his downhill ride.
The first half is all about his rise to fame while the second half shows how he slowly falls into madness. After many years of fighting, he finally is victorious.
I.Q.
The story is about an auto mechanic who falls for Albert Einstein’s niece. The only problem is that she is engaged (已订婚的) to someone else. Fortunately, Einstein likes him. The young man pretends to be a physicist to run after her, but things don’t go as he has planned.
If A Beautiful Mind was a little too heavy for you, I.Q. would be the perfect fit. It’s a light drama that is funny and heartwarming for the most part.
Good Will Hunting
Good Will Hunting is a touching tale of a troubled young man called Will Hunting who is gifted with a natural talent in mathematics.
However, he is struggling to find his identity. He can solve any math problem, but not the one he seems to be struggling within his life. His life seems to be getting only worse until one day he meets Sean, a therapist, who helps him find direction in life.
Creation
Creation is a story of a famous scientist, Charles Darwin, best known for his Theory of Evolution. This movie attempts to bring his struggling days into focus, the time when he was dealing with the loss of his daughter and was suffering from hallucinations (幻觉). At the same time, he was working on a book called On the Origins of Species, which he finally completed.
All in all, Creation is a great historical drama.

(《美丽心灵》讲述了约翰·纳什的故事,他是一位数学家,后来凭借博弈论获得了诺贝尔奖)”和Good Will Hunting部分“Good Will Hunting is a touching tale of a troubled young man called Will Hunting who is gifted with a natural talent in mathematics.
根据第一段“Are you looking for some movies You’ve landed on the right place. Let’s take a look at the list I’ve collected.( 你在找电影吗?你找对地方了。让我们看看我收集的清单)”可知,这篇文章主要是给读者介绍一些电影。故选A。

Quietly sitting there reading, I found myself suddenly listening to the train guard’s announcements (通知). Usually, when the guard (列车长) makes an announcement, few train travelers listen to it, because it’s often quite boring. But this one was different because I noticed that other passengers seemed to be listening, too. Not only that, everyone was smiling!
Why train travelers paid so much attention to this message I just remember part of the guard’s words, “Good Morning Ladies, Gentlemen and Children, this is the 7:35 a.m. from Penrith to Central and you’ll be happy to know that we are right on time. And what a lovely morning it is in Sydney today. The sun is shining, birds are singing, and all’s right with the world. I trust you have a great day wherever you’re going. Thanks for catching my train this morning and I hope to see you again soon.”
Many people started talking to each other about the guards excellent message and how good it had made everyone feel. I started thinking about this and then I found the young guard and said “Are you the guard on the 7:35 a.m. from Penrith ” The guard seemed a bit stunned at first, replying, “Yes, yes.” “Well, I really appreciate (感谢) your announcement. Thank you for your extremely good message, which gave me and the other passengers such a good start to the day. Please keep doing it.” I said.
There are two messages for me in what happened that day. Firstly, when people are happy in their work, it shows in what they do and say. Secondly, the story tells that it is meaningful to thank people for what they’ve done, especially when they don’t expect it. Can you imagine the conversation that the guard would have when he got home
4. Why do few train travelers listen to the announcement
A. They usually feel sleepy. B. They are reading books.
C. The guard’s voice is not beautiful. D. The announcement is often unattractive.
5. What does the underlined word “stunned” in Paragraph 3 mean
A. Patient. B. Surprised. C. Frightened. D. Disappointed.
6. What might the guard talk about with his family when he got home
A. The daily life. B. The interesting work.
C. The unexpected appreciation. D. The beautiful weather.
7. Which of the following can be the best title for the text
A. A Clever Guard B. A Boring Train Story
C. A Lovely Morning in Sydney D. A Different Train Announcement
D 5. B 6. C 7. D
根据第一段“Usually, when the guard (列车长) makes an announcement, few train travelers listen to it, because it’s often quite boring.(通常,当列车员广播时,很少有旅客会听,因为它通常很无聊)”可知,几乎没乘客听火车上的通知是因为它不吸引人。
根据划线词上文“I started thinking about this, and then I found the young guard and said “Are you the guard on the 7:35 a.m. from Penrith ”(我开始思考这个问题,然后我找到了那个年轻的警卫,问他:“你是早上7点35分从彭里斯出发的那个警卫吗?”)”
根据第三段““Well, I really appreciate (感谢) your announcement. Thank you for your extremely good message, which gave me and the other passengers such a good start to the day. Please keep doing it.” I said. (“嗯,我非常感谢你的通知。谢谢你非常好的留言,让我和其他乘客有了一个良好的开始。请继续这样做。”我说)”可知,年轻列车员在火车上收到了乘客的感谢,这是他没想到的,所以他回家后可能会和家人分享这次“出乎意料的感谢经历”。故选C。
【7题详解】
主旨大意题。根据第一段“But this one was different because I noticed that other passengers seemed to be listening, too. Not only that, everyone was smiling!(但这次不一样,因为我注意到其他乘客似乎也在听我说话。不仅如此,每个人都在微笑!)”结合本文主要讲述了作者坐火车听到了一则不同寻常的火车通知。列车员快乐阳光的广播给乘客们带来了好心情。作者对列车员表示了感谢,故D选项“一则不同的火车通知”符合标题。故选D。

High school biology teacher Kelly Chavis knew smartphones were a problem in her class. But not even the students realized how much of a problem the devices were until Chavis did an in-class experiment.
For one class period, students used a whiteboard to count every Snapchat, Instagram, text, call that appeared on their phones. Chavis is among a growing number of teachers, parents and health experts who believe that smartphones are now partly to blame for increasing the levels of student anxiety. “One girl, just during the one hour, got close to 150 Snapchat notifications. 150!” she said.
Jean Twenge, a psychology professor at San Diego State University in California, said it is not a coincidence that youth mental health issues have risen with the number of phones. “This use of phones has led to a loss of sleep and face-to-face interactions necessary for their growth,” she said.
Researchers are still not sure whether phones cause student depression or depression causes phone use. But nearly 60 percent of parents said they worry about the influence of social media on their child’s physical and mental health.
Both schools and parents are starting to take steps to deal with the problem. Many public schools pay outside companies to watch students’ social media activity for signs of anxiety. Other schools invite in yoga teachers and comfort dogs to help calm students.
8. What’s the purpose of Chavis’s experiment
A. To see how many students have smartphones.
B. To find out how popular her students are.
C. To show smartphones influence teenagers greatly.
D. To tell her students how to use smartphones wisely.
9. How did Kelly Chavis feel about the result
A. Shocked. B. Excited. C. Satisfied. D. Frightened.
10. Which of the following is true according to Jean Twenge
A. Students are now under great stress.
B. Students spend too much money on smartphones.
C. Over-using phones cause drops in students’ grades.
D. Over-using phones may harm students’ body and mind.
11. What might be talked about if the passage is continued
A. How other schools deal with students’ phones.
B. Whether the ways to handle phones are effective.
C. How some parents deal with their children’s phones.
D. Whether students are willing to give up using phones.
C 9. A 10. D 11. C
But not even the students realized how much of a problem the devices were until Chavis did an in-class experiment.
Chavis is among a growing number of teachers…are now partly to blame for increasing the levels of…“One girl, just during the one hour, got close to 150 Snapchat notifications. 150!” she said.
根据第三段的it is not a coincidence that youth mental health issues have risen with the number of phones.
Both schools and parents are starting to take steps to deal with the problem.

The 187-foot-tall Tower of Pisa is famous all over the world mainly because it leans (倾斜). For many years, people believed that the tower’s designer intended it to lean. As it turns out, though, the tower’s lean is an accident caused by poor planning. The Tower of Pisa was constructed (建造) on a riverbed of sand and clay (黏土) that was not strong enough to support a building so tall and heavy.
Construction of the tower began in 1173. Because Pisa experienced several wars, the tower wasn’t completed until 1350. Only a few years after the construction started, people could see that the first three floors of the tower were already leaning. As the next three floors were added, builders purposefully built them with one side higher than the other to try to correct the lean. This resulted in the tower leaning in the opposite direction
Fortunately for the people of Pisa, the long delays (耽搁) during construction gave the structure time to settle and the ground to become compacted (结实的). This mad the foundation (地基) stronger over time, which is the main reason why the tower never fell over. For hundreds of years, the tower was indeed falling. It would lean one more inch about every 20 years. In the end, in 1990, it was closed to the public for fear that a large group of people at the top would weigh enough to make it fall down.
From 1990 to 2001, engineers from around the world helped balance the tower After several unsuccessful attempts at a solution, engineers finally came up with a plan that worked. They slowly removed ground under the high side of the tower. When they had finished, they had returned it to the position it held in about 1838—the tower had been straightened by nearly 16 inches. Except a sudden great disaster, such as a earthquake, engineers believe the tower is safe for another 300 years now.
12. What does the author try to explain about the Tower of Pisa in Paragraph 1
A. Why it leans. B. Why it was built.
C. Why it is famous. D. Why it stopped leaning.
13. What can we learn about the Tower of Pisa
A. It was completed in 1173. B. It began to be built in 1350.
C. It was seen leaning after 1173. D. It was repaired every 20 years.
14. What kept the Tower of Pisa from falling down according to Paragraph 3
A. The special structure. B. The timely protection.
C. The skill of the builders. D. The long time of building.
15. What would be the best title for the text
A. When does the Tower of Pisa lean
B. Is the leaning Tower of Pisa falling
C. When was the leaning Tower of Pisa built
D. How did the leaning Tower of Pisa get its name
A 13. C 14. D 15. B
根据第一段中“As it turns out, though, the tower’s lean is an accident caused by poor planning. The Tower of Pisa was constructed (建造) on a riverbed of sand and clay (黏土) that was not strong enough to support a building so tall and heavy.”(然而,事实证明,这座塔的倾斜是由于规划不当造成的意外。 故选A项。
根据第二段中“Construction of the tower began in 1173. Because Pisa experienced several wars, the tower wasn’t completed until 1350. Only a few years after the construction started, people could see that the first three floors of the tower were already leaning.”(这座塔始建于1173年。
根据第三段中“Fortunately for the people of Pisa, the long delays (耽搁) during construction gave the structure time to settle and the ground to become compacted (结实的). This mad the foundation (地基) stronger over time, which is the main reason why the tower never fell over.”(对比萨人来说幸运的是,施工过程中的长时间延误使结构有时间稳定下来,地面也变得密实。
根据文章大意以及第一段“The 187-foot-tall Tower of Pisa is famous all over the world mainly because it leans (倾斜). For many years, people believed that the tower’s designer intended it to lean. As it turns out, though, the tower’s lean is an accident caused by poor planning. The Tower of Pisa was constructed (建造) on a riverbed of sand and clay (黏土) that was not strong enough to support a building so tall and heavy.”(187英尺高的比萨斜塔因其倾斜而闻名于世。 Is the leaning Tower of Pisa falling “比萨斜塔要倒了吗?”

A few years ago, the company that I worked for sent my wife and me to live in New York for a year. I’ve always loved running, so I was really happy when I found I lived next to Central Park. This meant that every morning I could go running before I went to work.
Because a lot of people had told me to be careful of robbers (抢劫犯) in the park, so usually I didn’t take anything with me. How could they rob me if I didn’t have anything But one morning, my wife gave me 10 dollars and asked me to buy some bread on the way. It was a beautiful morning and the park was quiet with few people walking or jogging around. While I was running through the park, another jogger knocked into (撞到) me. He said sorry to me and continued running. For a while, I didn’t think too much of it.
However, when I noticed the wide path where I was running, I thought it was a little strange. The warning of robbers in the park hit me. “It could have been a robber!” I suddenly became anxious, so I checked my pocket and found that the money was missing. Without thinking twice, I ran after that jogger. I finally caught up and held him by the arm. I shouted, “Give me the 10 dollars! Now!” I am not usually a hot-headed (性急的) person, but I got really angry this time. I couldn’t believe the robbery was actually happening to me.
Filled with anger, I shook my fist (拳头) at him. This seemed to frighten him. He quickly put his hand in his pocket and gave me 10 dollars. Then he ran away as fast as he could. I bought the bread and went home.
As soon as I got home, I couldn’t wait to tell my wife the story. “You won’t believe what happened to me,” I said with pride. She immediately stopped me, “I know, you left the money for the bread on the kitchen table.”
Looking at the money on the table, I stood there, shocked.

But I didn’t give up finding him and for several days, I waited at the same place in the park.

Looking at the money on the table, I stood there, shocked. For the rest of the day, I felt extremely guilty, with the innocent jogger and his “helplessness” on my mind. “How could I be so rude to him without knowing the truth Why was it that the jogger gave me the money I still remembered his frightened face when I scared him away like a monster. I decided to find a chance to apologize to him. The next morning, I got up and went to the park as usual, but not for jogging. I just hung around where I had met that jogger, but in vain.
But I didn’t give up finding him and for several days, I waited at the same place in the park. But to my disappointment, he didn’t turn up. It was almost a week later before I finally spotted him again. I, the “robber”, gave the $10 bill back to him and said sorry to him again and again. Fortunately, he forgave me for what I had done to him and said, “Oh, it doesn’t matter.” Many years have passed, but I can still feel my cheeks burning with shame. From the experience I have learned that it is too early to judge a person before you know the truth.

However, he is struggling to find his identity. He can solve any math problem, but not the one he seems to be struggling within his life. His life seems to be getting only worse until one day he meets Sean, a therapist, who helps him find direction in life.

This movie attempts to bring his struggling days into focus, the time when he was dealing with the loss of his daughter and was suffering from hallucinations (幻觉).
I started thinking about this, and then I found the young guard and said “Are you the guard on the 7:35 a.m. from Penrith ” The guard seemed a bit stunned at first, replying, “Yes, yes.” “Well, I really appreciate (感谢) your announcement.

C. The unexpected appreciation. D. The beautiful weather.
7. Which of the following can be the best title for the text
A. A Clever Guard B. A Boring Train Story
C A Lovely Morning in Sydney D. A Different Train Announcement

B Students spend too much money on smartphones.
