Language points
1.【辨析】other、the other、the others与another。
(1)other另外的,其他的。它作形容词,后接复数名词,泛指其他的人或物。
(2)the other后接单数或复数名词,表示在一定范围内除去一个或一些后其余所有的人或物。
(3)the others特指某一范围内除去一个或一些后其余所有的人或物,相当于“the other+复数名词”。
(4)another后接单数名词时泛指三者或三者以上的人或物中的“另一个”;后接“数词+复数名词”时表示“再,又”。
2.one by one 一个接一个地,依次。它相当于one after another。例:They went into the classroom one by one and sat down.
他们依次进入教室并坐下。
3.make a list of 列一张……的清单。例:Before you go shopping, you’d better make a list of things you want to buy.
在去购物之前,你最好列一张你想要购买的东西的清单。
4.recipe n.食谱。它是可数名词,常与介词for连用。例:Here is a recipe for tomato soup.这是番茄汤的做法。
5.“make+名词/代词(宾语)+形容词(宾补)”表示“使某人/物(变得)……”,其中形容词作宾语补足语。
例:The good news made him very happy.
这条好消息使他非常高兴。
6.over prep.超过。其后跟数词,相当于more than。例:This hall can hold over 500 people.这个大厅能容纳500多人。
7.It’s time to do sth.是该做某事的时候了。它相当于“It’s time for sth.”。例:It’s time to say goodbye.该说再见了。
