知识梳理
Language points
1．probably adv.很可能；大概。它常用作状语，可位于句首，也可位于句中。它位于句中时放在实义动词之前，助动词、情态动词或be动词之后。
【辨析】probably、maybe与 possibly。
(1)probably表示的可能性很大。
(2)maybe表示的可能性比probably小，常放于句首。
(3)possibly所指的可能性较小，为加强语气，可与can或could连用；与may连用时，表示的可能性更小。
2．during prep.在……期间。它表示一定时间中的某个时间段。
【拓展】当它指一段时间中的某个时间点，意思是“当……之际”。
【辨析】during与in。两者均可表示一段时间，有时可互换。但during更强调时间的延续，in只是指一般性的某一时间。因此若表示状态或习惯性动作，多用during，否则用in更为常见。
3．holiday n．假期；假日。
常用搭配：on holiday在休假；take a holiday度假；summer/winter holiday暑假/寒假。
【辨析】holiday、vacation与festival。
(1)holiday指国家法定的或因风俗习惯而形成的节假日。(2)vacation指学习或工作中一段长时间的休息。
(3)festival指具有悠久历史的传统节日或持续一段时间的文娱活动。
