Step 1 Warm-up & Revision
Revision Ask the Ss to look at the pictures, then answer the question: What can he/she/they/you do Lead in —What can he do —He can swim. —Can he play basketball —No, he can’t. —Can he swim —Yes, he can. Discussion Ask the Ss to have a discussion. How to use the modal verb “can” to talk about abilities 1.can后的动词形式有什么特点? 2.can随人称变化而变化吗? 3. can的否定形式是什么样的?有缩略形式吗? 4. can在一般疑问句和特殊疑问句中需要借助助动词吗?
Step 2 Grammar & Presentation
Grammar Focus The T can ask Ss to read aloud the sentences. 1.can后的动词形式有什么特点? Answer: can后用动词原形。 2.can随人称变化而变化吗? Answer:can没有人称的变化。不管主语是什么人称, can及其后面的动词不会变化。 3.can的否定形式是什么样的?有缩略形式吗? Answer:can的否定形式是在其后直接加not, 即can not, 可缩略成can’t或cannot。 4.can在一般疑问句和特殊疑问句中需要借助助动词吗? Answer:不需要借助助动词,应将can直接提前,变为疑问语序。 Grammar 情态动词can can是常见的情态动词,不能独立作谓语,其后需接动词原形。它没有人称和数的变化。can的否定形式为can not, 其缩略形式为can’t/cannot, can’t多用于口语,cannot更加正式。can可表示能力、推测、允许、请求等,本单元主要讲解can表示能力的用法。 can表“能力”用法 can表示能力时,意为“能;会”。“can+动词原形”表示“(某人)能/会做某事”,其否定形式为“can’t/cannot+动词原形”,表示“(某人)不能/不会做某事”。 I can play basketball, and my brother can play football. 我会打篮球,我哥哥会踢足球。 She can play the piano, but she can’t/cannot dance. 她会弹钢琴,但不会跳舞。 The twins can draw, but they can’t swim. 那对双胞胎会画画,但是他们不会游泳。 句型结构 (1)肯定句 主语 + can + 动词原形 + 其他. He can play the piano. 他会弹钢琴。 (2)否定句 主语 + can’t/cannot + 动词原形+其他. He can’t/cannot play the piano. 他不会弹钢琴。 (3)一般疑问句 Can + 主语 + 动词原形 + 其他 肯定回答:Yes, 主语 + can. 否定回答:No, 主语 + can’t. —Can he play the piano 他会弹钢琴吗? —Yes, he can. 是的,他会。/No, he can’t. 不,他不会。 (4)特殊疑问句 特殊疑问词 + can + 主语 + 动词原形+其他 What can he do 他会做什么? Can you swim Yes, I can. /No, I can’t. Can he play chess Yes, he can./No, he can’t. Can you and Tom play chess Yes, we can./No, we can’t. Can Jane and Jill swim Yes, they can./No, they can’t. What can you do I can dance./I can’t sing. What club do you want to join We want to join the chess club.
观察左栏句子,最后一句和前面的句子有什么不同? What club do you want to join 这句话为含有实义动词want的一般现在时的句式结构 实义动词即表示动作的行为动词,能独立作谓语。在一般现在时态的肯定句中,如果主语为第三人称单数,实义动词也要用第三人称单数;在疑问句中,要借助于助动词does,在否定句中,要借助于助动词doesn’t。 I want to join the art club. Students Wanted for School Show 学校(文艺)表演招募学生 wanted的用法 【用法详解】wanted在此处用于招募人员广告标题,相当于汉语中的“招募,征集,招聘,寻求”等含义。常用结构:被招募或寻求的对象 +wanted +for +招募或寻求的组织或活动。 Teachers Wanted 招聘教师 Help Wanted 寻求帮助 Musicians Wanted for the Rock Band 摇滚乐队招聘音乐人 show n.演出;节目 v. 给……看;展示 show中的字母组合ow发/ /, 如slow/sl /,bowl/b l/。此外,ow还可发/a /, 如how/ha /。 【用法详解】show 在此处作名词,意为“演出,节目”。常用短语有: talk show 脱口秀; 访谈节目 fashion show 时装表演 quiz show 智力游戏节目 The fashion show starts at 7:30 in the evening. 时装表演晚上7:30开始。 show还可作动词,意为“给……看;展示”。show sb. sth.=show sth. to sb., 意为“向某人展示某物”。 Please show me your ID card.=Please show your ID card to me. 请给我看一下你的身份证。 如果show后的两个宾语都是人称代词,则只能用show sth. to sb. 结构。 Your new eraser is very nice. Can you sing or dance 你会唱歌或者跳舞吗? 选择疑问句 【用法详解】 选择疑问句是指提出两个或两个以上可能的答案供对方选择的句式。供选择的部分常用or来连接。需要注意的是: (1) 选择疑问句不能用Yes或No来回答,而应该根据所给的选择对象和实际情况来回答。 (2) 读选择疑问句时,or前面的部分用升调,or后面的部分用降调。 —Do you like red or green 你喜欢红色还是绿色? — I like red. 我喜欢红色。 【拓展延伸】选择疑问句的前半句也可以是特殊疑问句。 —What would you like, coffee or tea 你想喝点什么,咖啡还是茶? —Tea. 茶。 3. Please talk to Mr. Zhang after school. 请放学后跟张老师说。 祈使句 【用法详解】本句是一个祈使句。祈使句常以动词原形开头,一般省略主语you。 有时为了礼貌,常在动词原形前加please。 please也可以放在句尾,前面常用逗号与其他成分隔开。 Please pass me a bottle of milk.= Pass me a bottle of milk, please.请递给我一瓶牛奶。 talk v. & n. 说话;交谈 【用法详解】talk在此处作不及物动词,常用结构: talk to sb. 侧重一方在讲, 另一方不一 定说话 talk with sb. 侧重双方互相交谈 talk about sth. 谈论某事/物 Don’t talk to strangers! 不要和陌生人讲话! Ms. Zhao often talks with Jim. 赵老师经常跟吉姆谈话。 They are talking about the new film. 他们正在谈论这部新电影。 【易混辨析】speak, say, talk与tell speak ① 强调说话的能力或方式 ② 表示说某种语言 He speaks quickly. 他说话很快。 Can you speak Chinese 你会说汉语吗?say 强调说的内容 What do you want to say 你想要说什么?talk 多指一方说,另一方听,或相互交谈Don’t talk with the driver. 不要和司机交谈。 tell 侧重一方告知另一方 Mom tells me the news. 妈妈告诉我这个消息。

After they learn the main structure in the grammar focus frame,the students should practice in different activities. And we'd better give them some written work after class.
