一周七天的来历
星期，又叫周，是一个时间单位，也是现在制定工作日、休息日的依据。星期
在中国古代称七曜。七曜在中国夏商周时期，是指日、月及五大行星等七个主要
星体，是当时天文星象的重要组成部分。后来借用作七天为一周的时间单位，故
称星期。
一周七天的名称最早起源于古巴比伦。公元前7至6世纪，巴比伦人便有了
星期制。他们把一个月分为4周，每周有7天，即一个星期。
古巴比伦人首先使用七天为一周的时间单位，后来犹太人把它传到古埃及，
又由古埃及传到罗马，公元3世纪以后，就广泛地传播到欧洲各国。
古巴比伦人以太阳、月亮和五大行星作为一周七天的名称，即太阳日、月亮
日、火星日、水星日、木星日、金星日、土星日。
在西方，英语中的一周七天部分沿用了罗马神话中的神名，部分换成了北欧
神话中的神名：
星期日：Sunday,the day of the Sun,“太阳日”。
星期一：Monday,the day of the Moon,“月亮日”。
星期二：Tuesday,源于Tiwesday,“战神日”。Tiw是北欧神话里的战神，正如
同罗马神话里的战神Mars一样。
星期三：Wednesday,源于Woden'sday,“风神日”。Woden是北欧诸神之父。

星期四：Thursday,是为了纪念雷神而命名的。故星期四又称为“雷神日”。
星期五：Friday,在古英文中Friday意思是Frigg'sday。Frigg是北欧神话中
主司婚姻和生育的女神，也是Woden的妻子。
星期六：Saturday,the day of Saturn,“土星日”。Saturn也是罗马神话中的农
神撒旦。
在中国，一周七天我们分别称之为星期一、星期二…或者周一、周二…是
以数字来表示的。这种表示法最早出现在清朝乾隆年间。

Today,people are busy building the city to make it more beautiful.It will be one
of the biggest cities in the world soon.
