一、教学目标
语言目标:
Words and phrases: private, require, guard, take up doing, deal with, dare to, not…anymore, get tons of attention, worry about, be careful about, hang out with friends, a small number, make it
技能目标:
1. 能运用used to 来谈论过去, 并与现在做出对比。
2. 建立对人物专访这类文体的基本结构意识,学习写作技能。
情感目标:
通过学习一个腼腆的小姑娘通过自我完善,实现流行歌星的梦想的故事,使同学进行自我反思自己的变化历程,从而引导学生建立积极的人生态度,要想成功,必须努力奋斗。
二、教学重难点
1. 能运用目标词汇和短语谈论人物的过去及现状,体会主人公故事给我们带来的启迪。
2. 了解文章的谋篇布局,提升阅读、写作能力。
三、教学过程
Step1 Lead in
1.Use “used to” and “but now” to describe the following pictures.
She used to have long hair, but now she has short hair.
She used to be shy, but now she is outgoing and popular.
2.Show a picture and ask: Do you know who she is
Then show the other picture and ask: Has Miss Liu changed
Do you want to know how I have changed?Let me share with you.
How I have changed:
I used to be shy, but now I’m outgoing and friendly.
I used to have a small number of friends, but now I have a lot.
I used to just stay at home alone in my private time, but now I usually hang out with friends.
I used to be a student, and I took up teaching after finishing college.
The road to be a good teacher (is difficult):
I require a lot of hard work.
There are lots of problems to deal with.
However, I never give up and fight on. I believe I can make it.
Now I dare to speak in front of crowds.
As a teacher, I get tons of attention. So I have to be careful about what I say or do.
Play a game: magic eyes
Step2 look and say
Now you have known something about me.
Do you want to know something about my friends
Today, I’d like to introduce you one of them------Candy Wang(show the picture)
Look at the picture and say:
1.What’s the girl doing?
2.Is she outgoing or shy?
Today, we will read an article about her. Here’s the title: From Shy Girl to Pop Star
Then think about the question:
What did she use to be like?
Step3 Fast -reading
Read quickly to get the main idea of each paragraph. Number 1 to 3.
Step4 Careful-reading
In order to get a better understanding. Let ’s read paragraph by paragraph.
a. Read paragraph 1 together and find out the answers to the questions.
b. Read paragraph 2 and then fill in the chart.
c. Read paragraph3 carefully to find out the advice Candy gives.
Finish 3b.
Step5 Retell
Retell the passage.
Step6 Post reading
3c. Suppose you are the interviewer and your partner is Candy. Ask and answer questions.
