1. as 的基本用法
①作“如，像”解。
They got united as one man.
他们团结得像一个人一样。
The old woman was dressed as a young lady.
这位老妇人打扮得像一位年轻人。
②作“充当，作为,以...的身份”解。
As a writer，he was famous．
作为作家，他是很有名的。
He works as a tour guide.
他作为导游工作。
As a party member, I must be strict with myself.
作为一名党员，我必须严格要求自己
与某些动词搭配，表示“把……当作……”
如：look on…as…, regard…as…, treat…as…, consider…as…, think of…as…, see…as…等。其中consider…as…中的as可以省略。as与famous或known搭配，表示“作为……而出名”。
用作副词的as
修饰形容词或副词，表示程度，意为“同样地”。
例如：He swims fast, but I swim just as fast.
2.连词as的用法
as+句子时，是连词，可引导‘原因状从、时间状从、方式状从、让步状从、定语从句’。
①引导原因状从时，译为‘因为’。
because语气最强,as句首,语气较弱,较口语化,As =Since既然,由于,表显而易见原因
As/Since you're not feeling well, you may stay at home.既然
well adv/adj 身体好 n 水井 good
As he wasn't ready, we went without him.由于（语气弱）
He will succeed because he is in earnest. 认真.(语气强)
Since you are sure of it, he’ll believe you.既然你有把握 （显而易见的原因）
As rain has fallen, the air is cooler. 空气比较清爽.（语气弱）
As rain has fallen，the air is cooler.
因为下过雨，所以空气比较凉爽。
②引导比较状从时。
as...as...或not so/ as...as...,前一个是副词(副词修形,动,副),后一个是连词
基本结构：as+ adj./ adv. +as.例如：
(1)This film is as interesting as that one.
(2)Your pen writes as smoothly as mine.
(3)+ N I cannot afford as high a price as he asked.
否定式：not as/so +adj./ adv. +as.例如：
This dictionary is not as/so useful as you think. 不如你想的那样有用.
若有修饰成分,如twice, three times, half, a quarter等,须置于第一个as前.例如：
Your bag is twice as expensive as mine.
你的袋子比我的贵一倍.
②引导时间状从时，译为‘当...时候’。
1)“一边…一边…”
The girl sings as she goes to school.
He looked behind occasionally as he went forward in the forest.偶尔,时不时地
2) “随着…的推移/交替”
As time went on/by, she became more and more beautiful.
As autumn approaches/comes,the leaves turn yellow and soon fall．
As children get older, they become more and more interested in everything.
3)"当…的时"两个短暂行为同时发生.
Just as the flying worm hit her face, she gave a loud cry.
As I arrived home，my mom was cooking a meal.
当我回到家的时候，妈妈正在做饭。
③引导让步状从时，译为‘虽然’，此时用法与although/though相同。
意思是：虽然，尽管。常用倒装。
句型：adj. /adv. / n.+ as +主语+谓语+主句
Although不倒装, though可倒可不倒,as必须倒。
Although\Though he is a child, he knows a lot.
Child as\ though he is, he knows a lot. (child前不用冠词)
(1) Although he is quite old, he still jogs every day. 仍然每天慢跑.
(2) Strange as it may seem, nobody was injured in the accident.尽管令人不可思议，倒装
(3) However hard he may try, he will not achieve his goal.无论他怎样努力 *However引导让步状从,后跟形容/副词,倒装语序.
(4)Tired as they were, they walked on. 倒装
As the little boy is smart，he couldn’t take care of himself.
虽然这个小男孩很聪明，但他还不能照顾自己。
④引导方式状从时，译为‘以...方式’。
As =in the way that “像”,按照…方式。
e.g. Remember, you must do everything as I do.
You must do the exercise as I show you.
Do as the Romans do when (you are) in Roma.
入乡随俗
⑤引导定语从句时，不翻译，仅根据先行词的类型而做选择。
1. as引导定语从句与其他词连用
①the same...as
This is the same book as I read last week.定从
②such...as
Such a clever boy as he can learn anything quickly.
He is such a learned professor as/that/who is welcomed by all the students.定从
注意：He is such a learned professor that he is welcomed by all the students. such…that…结果状从 如此…以至于…
③so+adj.+a/an+n.单+as
I am not so strong a man as I was. 没有从前那么强壮 .定从
2. as引导非限制性定语从句
as引导非限定从可在主句前,也放在主句后,修饰整个句子。
常用句型：
as we all know, as I expect, as is known to all, as is said, as is reported, as is announced。
She is late, as is often the case.这是常有的事.(先行词 整个主句)
To shut your eyes to facts, as many of you do, is foolish.对事实视而不见--许多人都是如此愚蠢.(先行词 不定式)
As I expected, he got the first place again in this exam. 正如我所预料
As is well known=As everyone knows, Taiwan belongs to China.
必背：
As we see/hear，/As is mentioned before/as has been said before如前所说
as may be imagined这可以想象得出
as has been pointed out正如已指出的
as often happens这种情况常常发生
This is the same question as I did yesterday.
这和我昨天做的题目一样。（固定搭配‘the same ... as）
3.as固定搭配
1) as a matter of fact 事实上
2) as a whole 作为整体，总体上
3) as a result 结果
4) as a result of “（由于……的）结果”；
5)as/so far as “就……的限度”；
as far as I know 据我所知
as far as I can remember 据我所记得的
as far as I can see 依我看，
as far as I can tell 依我看
as far as sb is concerned 就某人而言
as far as sth is concerned 就某事而论；至于某物
As far as we knew, there was no cause for concern.
就我们所知，没有什么需要担心的。
As far as I can see, you have done nothing wrong.
依我看，你没有做错任何事。
She lived in Chicago, as far as I can remember.
据我所记得的，她过去住在芝加哥。
A far as I’m concerned, she can come home whenever she likes.
就我而言，她何时想回家就可以回家。
As far as money is concerned, there shouldn’t be a problem.
至于钱，应该没有问题。
As/So far as I know, the library won"t open until eight o"clock.据我所知，图书馆要到八点钟才开门。
注意：区别“远至；远达”。
We’ll go by train as far as London, and then take a bus.
我们坐火车到伦敦，然后转乘公共汽车。
The grassland stretched on all sides as far as the eye could see.

He walked as far as the railway station yesterday evening.昨天傍晚，他一直散步到火车站。
6) as early as 早在…
7) as long as ①引导条件从句，意思是“只要”相当于so long as. 如:
As long as you tell the truth，I’ll try to help you.只要你告诉我实情，我会尽力帮助你。
You may take this book away so long as you return it on time.只要你按时归还，就可以把这本书拿走。
I don't care so/as long as she lets me be with her son.只要她让我和她儿子在一起，我不在乎。
I will stay with you as long as there is a room free. 要是你有一间空余的房子，我就住在你这里。
as long as ②引导原因从句，意思是“既然，由于，因为”。如：
As long as we've driven this far, we might as well go on.我们既然已经驶得这么远了，就不妨继续前进。
As long as you are going, I'll go too.既然你要去，那么我也去。
As long as the weather is changeable these days, we’d better get in wheat in time.由于这几天气候变化无常，我们最好及时把麦收割完。
As long as you're up, get me a drink. 既然你已经起来了，给我弄点喝的。
as long as 表示“与…一样长”时，用于肯定句或否定句，而 so long as 只用于否定句。如：
It took three times as long as I had expected.这件事比我预料的多花了两倍的时间。
He will be all right so long as you don't touch his sore spot. 只要你不提起他的伤心事，他是没有什么的。
He has been on a diet for as long as any of his friends can remember 在朋友的记忆中，他一直都在节食。
It took us as long as three years to carry out the plan.我们花了长达三年时间才完成这项计划。
This rope is as long as that one.这条绳子和那条一样长。
8) as soon as “一……就”，引导时间状语从句；
as soon as…引导时间状语从句，注意有时需“主将从现”，
As soon as he got in the yard, his little son ran up to him.他一走进院子，他的小儿子就朝他跑过来。
As soon as I came back, I began to make some meat pies.我一回来，就开始做肉馅饼。
I will tell him the news as soon as he comes. 他一到，我就告诉他这个消息。（主将从现）
We’ll send you a copy as soon as it becomes available.一有货我们就给你寄一本去。
I felt free from the cares of the day as soon as I left the building. 我一离开那栋大楼便觉得轻松自在，不再为那天的事烦心了。
as good as 几乎一样
The matter is as good as settled.
这事可以说解决了。
The summer is as good as over.
夏天差不多已经过去了。
He as good as called me a coward.
他就差说我是懦夫了。
10) as much/many as“多达……”；
11) as…as usual/before 像以前一样……
She looks as pretty as before.她看起来和以前一样漂亮
Though they failed, they still worked as hard as before.尽管他们失败了，但他们仍像以前一样努力工作。
12) as well as 和，也，以及
13) as to/ as for “至于，就……而言”；
14) as well “也、还”；
15) as if/though “好像，仿佛”，引导方式状语从句或表语从句；
16) as it is“照现状看，看样子”，等等。
17) as…as possible/can 尽可能的…
as quickly as possible 尽可能迅速的······
as much as possible 尽可能多的······
as soon as possible 尽可能快的······
We would be grateful for your cooperation in clearing the hall as quickly as possible.你们若大力协助尽快把大厅腾空，我们将不胜感激。
The doctor will see you again next week. Meanwhile, you must rest as much as possible.医生下周还会给你看病。在此期间，你一定要尽可能多休息。

Tell him as little as possible.

1. as 的基本用法
①作“如，像”解。
