1.show的用法
show既可以作动词,也可以作名词,作名词时意为“展览;表现;虚假的外观;表演”,作动词时意为“给……看;表现;露出;演示”。
常见短语:
(1)show up 出现;露面
(2)show off 炫耀
(3)on show 展览
(4)show sb.around 带某人参观
(5)show sb.sth.= show sth.to sb.拿某物给某人看
2.辨析get to,arrive,reach
三者均可表示“到达”,区别如下:
arrive和get都是不及物动词,前者较正式,后者则较口语化。两者之后均不可接宾语,但可接here,there,home之类的表地点的副词作状语。
(1)arrive之后通常接介词at(一般用于较小的地方)或in(一般用于较大的地方)。
(2) get之后通常接介词to。
(3)reach通常是及物动词(较get更正式),其后可直接跟地点名词作宾语(不能用介词)。
3.forget的用法
forget意为“忘记”。
(1)forget to do sth.意为“忘记做某事”,to do表示的动作没有发生。
(2)forget doing sth.意为“忘记做过某事”,某事已经做过了,可是忘记了。
4.Before she got a chance to say goodbye,he had gone into the building.在她有机会说再见之前,他已经走进了大楼。
【句型剖析】 before在此用作连词,意思是“在……之前;还没来得及……就”。从句经常用过去时,主句用过去完成时。
过去完成时的用法
【语法讲解】
1.过去完成时的构成
过去完成时由“had(用于各种人称和数)+动词的过去分词”构成。
(1)肯定句:主语+had+动词的过去分词+其他
(2)否定句:主语+had not/hadn’t+动词的过去分词+其他
(3)一般疑问句:had+主语+动词的过去分词+其他?
2.过去完成时的用法
过去完成时表示在过去某一时间或动作之前已经发生或完成的动作,它表示动作发生的时间是“过去的过去”,常用于以下几种情况:
(1)与介词by,before构成的时间状语连用。
(2)与连词when,before,after等引导的状语从句连用。
(3)与for,since引导的表示一段时间的状语或从句连用。

1.辨析leave,forget
(1)leave指把某物“遗忘”在某处,忘记带走,为及物动词,后跟名词/代词作宾语,再接地点状语。

2.辨析be going to,be about to
(1)be about to 表示即将发生的动作,在时间上指最近的将来。在含有be about to do的句子中,不能再加时间状语。只能和when引导的状语从句连用。
