学情分析
学生情况：学习习惯没有养好，学习基础不太好。但初一的知识相对比较简单，60%的学生对英语学习还是很感兴趣的，能主动的去学习新知识。30%的学生没有自学的主动性，只是在老师的引导下去学习，而是10%的学生对学习无所谓，不太乐于学习。
教材及课程情况：本课为初一上册第八模块第二单元，Module 8 Choosing presents Unit2 She often goes to concerts. 为读写课，主要话题为：根据家人的爱好、习惯等，为其挑选生日礼物。语法为一般现在时及频度副词的使用。本课在全册书中起到承上启下的作用。

知识与技能：To get information from the reading material about choosing birthday presents.
过程与方法：To write a description of somebody.
情感、态度、价值观：Share their happiness with others and choosing birthday presents depend on what they like.

教学过程
Step 1: Warming-up
Look at the pictures and talk about them. Ask the students to repeat the words and expressions chorally and then individually.
Step 2: Reading for the first time
Students are given several minutes to figure out who are mentioned in the passage and write down the answers on the blackboard.
Step 3: Reading for the second time
Ask the students to read the passage again and then match the people with what they like doing. Ask the students to check the answers in class and then choose presents from the pictures in Activity 1.
Step 4: Reading for the third time
Ask the students to repeat and help them pick out key points in the passage. Explain if necessary.
Step 5: More exercises for consolidation
Go over the phrases and sentences in the passage. Fill in the blanks and figure out whether the students grasp the key points in Unit2.
Check the answers in class.
Step 6: Writing
Try to use the patterns and the adverbs of frequency to choose a birthday present for their family or friend.
Step 7: Summary
