One possible version:
The following day, I anxiously waited for the results. Would my effort pay off Would I
achieve my goal of becoming one of the student leaders When the principal eventually announced
that I had been elected with the second-highest number of votes, I couldn't help but jump up with
excitement. With a bright smile, I walked up to the stage to loud cheers from my fellow
students.Their joy showed me that my victory was not just mine, but theirs as well.
Later, I realized that I had gained far more than what I had expected. In addition to being
appointed as one of the student leaders, I had made numerous friends along the way who now saw
me as someone always willing to lend a helping hand. While pursuing my dream, I had become a
source of inspiration and hope for other students. By being myself, I had shown them that success
would be achievable for anyone if they stuck to their goals, worked hard and believed in themselves.

writing positive reviews in return for a payment or gifts from the maker”可知,36空的前后文形成
37. G. 根据 “a surprisingly large number of reviewers gave either four- or five-star ratings to
the product..., which looked suspicious.”
everything being sold on the shopping website could be first class!”
即“If those reviews were true, a broader spread of ratings would be given.”“those”指的
前面的“reviews”。故选 G
38. A. 根据空前“Some products that you buy on shopping website can be terrible. You would
expect therefore to see a variety of scores.”以及下一段“It seems that anyone who writes a large
number of good reviews is given a special treat by the shopping website.”
故选 A。
39. E. “These ‘top’ reviewers”代指上文“anyone who writes a large number of good
reviews ”;“free products”解释上文的“ a special treat ”。故选 E。
40. F. 根据后文“So, a good and responsible organization seems to be the best answer.”

应用文五档:13—15; 10—12; 7—9; 4—6; 1—3;
1)14(应用文)档:漂漂亮亮、几乎没有错,读起来没有阻力,不影响交际;
2)11(应用文)档:清清楚楚、隔三差五有错,1/3有问题,没跑题,部分影响交际;
属于有问题的答卷,没有及格;
4)5(应用文)档:糊里糊涂,1/3句子可以,2/3句子不行,隔三差五有点对;

与所给短文及段落开头语的衔接程度;
内容的丰富性和首句关键词的衔接情况;
语法结构和词汇的丰富性和准确性;

M: Hi, Ann! I wish I could.

M: But it’s already six twenty now.
Text 5
W: You should wear your red tie with this suit.
M: Which one
W: The one that our daughter bought for you as the 60th birthday gift. It’s the red one with
white points.
M: Oh, that one, I know where it is. I’ll get it.
Text 6
W: Good morning, Mr. Smith! I’ve worked out a study plan for this semester. Could you spare a
few minutes to have a look and give me any suggestions, please
M: Well, I think it’s a good idea to have a to-do list for each day. Just remember to check off all
that you’ve done every night.
W: Oh, I see. Then, I can see that I’ve carried out my plan.
M: Yes. And the most important thing is that you must make sure that you follow your plan
every day.
W: Thank you very much!
M: You’re welcome.
Text 7
W: Nowadays the young are different from what we were.
M: You’re right. It’s a good thing as well as a bad one for them to earn too much money. They
can afford to buy anything.
W: Last week my grandson bought ten T-shirts! He only wears them once or twice, and then

throws them away. It’s a terrible waste of money.
M: But young people don’t understand the real value of money. They have too much of it.

W: You’re right. And it’s difficult to tell young people what our life was like in the old days.
They just don’t understand.
Text 8
M: Hey, Emily. It’s nice to hear you. How are you doing
W: Not very good, frankly. I got some problems with my study here. I’m calling to ask for your
advice.
M: Sure. I went through that difficult stage myself two years ago.
W: The courses are a lot harder than those in high school. What can I do with them
M: Not surprising. Two years ago when I first entered college, I couldn’t follow the lectures in
my major courses. I almost gave up when I realized that I had to improve my study habits. I
previewed and reviewed the lessons carefully. Whenever I had problems, I looked for help by every
means possible. You can try the same things and see if they work.
W: I see. Thanks a lot for your advice.
Text 9
W: Good morning, Sunny Holidays. How can I help you
M: Hi, I’m trying to find out more about the trips you offer.
W: OK, we have a lot of trips. Where would you like to go
M: Well, I’m interested in the overnight trip that takes people to see dolphins.
W: Yes, that’s our Dolphin Watch Explorer. It’s very popular, so you need to book in advance.
M: Alright. How long is it
W: It’s one and a half days, which includes the two hours’ traveling each way from here.
M: That’s perfect, so do we leave from this office and travel by minibus
W: Yes, you leave from here, but you travel by coach, and then by boat. There’re up to 20
people on each boat, though we run tours for any number over 15.
M: OK, so how regular are the tours
W: Every day at present because it is the peak season. We run them once a week outside of the
peak season and close the tour down completely from November to February.
Text 10
Costa Rica is a beautiful country with many interesting things to do. Costa Rica has two
seasons: dry and rainy. May is the start of the rainy season. In May and June, mornings are usually
cloudy and warm; then in the afternoon and evening it rains—sometimes a lot. It’s not always easy
to travel in Costa Rica then, but prices are lower, and there are fewer tourists. In July and August, the
west coast is mostly dry and hot, and it usually rains only at night. It’s a good time to visit, but Costa
Rica gets more tourists at this time, and prices are high in some places. Costa Rica’s dry season starts
in December. By February, March, and April, it’s sunny and hot at the beach. In the capital, San José,
it’s cooler, and in the mountains, it can be cold at night. February to April is the most popular time to
visit Costa Rica. Many places are crowded and prices are higher. But the weather is perfect all over
the country.
