how to care for animals是“疑问词+动词不定式”结构,在句中作
宾语。英语中疑问代词what, who, which和疑问副词where,when,why,how等后面接动词不定式构成动词不定式短语,在句中可作主语、宾语、表语等成分。
e.g. Would you please advise me which to buy
【注意】“疑问词+动词不定式”结构常用于tell,know,show,
learn,teach,explain等后作宾语,此时该结构相当于一个宾语从句。它所表示的动作通常是未发生的动作,所以在转换成宾语从句时,通常加情态动词或用将来时态。
e.g. Bill didn’t know what to say. = Bill didn’t know what he should say.

情)渐好,看到它们主人脸上的喜悦表情时,我产生出那么一种极

此句中两个get的用法和意义各不相同。第一个get用作及物动词,
意为“产生;形成”,常与feeling(感觉;情感),idea(想法;
主意)等词语搭配使用。第二个get用作连系动词,意为“变得;
变为”,后接形容词,表示体质、情绪、天气等方面的改变。

(1) 本句是一个动名词短语作主语的句子。volunteering here是动名词
短语,在此句中作主语。单个的动名词(短语)作主语时,谓语动
词要用第三人称单数形式。这种结构一般可以换为“It is + 形容词/
名词 + to do sth.”或不定式短语作主语。
e.g. Climbing mountains is very interesting.
Reading English novels is really funny. = It is really funny to read
English novels.
(2) a dream come true 意为“梦想成为现实;梦想成真”,是一种常见的表达方式。come true 意为“实现;成为现实”,其主语常为梦想、愿望或目标等。
e.g. I’ve always wanted to visit Beijing, so going there on
vacation next week will be a dream come true for me.
His dream of becoming a teacher came true.
4. I can do what I love to do and help others at the same time. 我可以做
我喜欢做的事情,同时也能帮助他人。
(1) 句中what I love to do作第一个do的宾语,为宾语从句。当宾
语从句为疑问句时,要用陈述语序。
e.g. —Do you know where the tourists are form
—Yes. They’re from New York.
(2) at the same time 意为“同时”。same前面一般要加定冠词the。
e.g. They both got to school at the same time this morning.

动词不定式
1 动词不定式的基本形式:to+动词原形;否定式:not to+动词原形。
2 动词不定式在句中的作用:
(1)作主语。如:To see is to believe. 眼见为实。
(2)作表语。如:He seems to be very rich. 他似乎很有钱。
(3)作宾语。如:She promised to come. 她答应会来。
(4)作宾补。如:What do you want me to do 你想要我做什么?
(5)作定语。如:I have some homework to do. 我有一些作业要做。
(6)作状语。如:He came to borrow some money. 他来借钱(表示目的)
Glad to meet you. 很高兴见到你。(表示原因)
3 习惯接动词不定式作宾语的动词有:agree, ask, choose, decide, hope, learn, offer, plan, promise, want, wish, would like等。如:
She hopes to study in America in the future. 她希望将来去美国留学。
I want to buy a new camera. 我想买个新相机。
4 “疑问词+to do”结构,相当于相应的从句。如:
I don’t know what to do. = I don’t know what I should do. 我不知道该怎么办。
They are learning how to help disabled people. = They are learning how they can help disabled people. 他们正在学习如何帮助残疾人。
5 常用于"动词+宾语+to do"结构的动词有:advise, allow, ask, encourage, help, invite, order, teach, tell, want, wish等。如:
My parents don’t allow me to go out at night. 我爸妈不许我晚上外出。
The teacher told us to write down the words. 老师叫我们把这些单词写下来。
6 动词不定式省略“to”的情况:
(1)在let, make等使役动词后作宾语补足语时省略to。如:
Don’t let your child play with fire. 别让小孩玩火。
I can make the machine run. 我能让机器动起来。
(2)在动词help后作宾语或宾补时可以用to,也可以省略to。如:
Can you help (to) carry this heavy box 你可以帮忙搬这个重箱子吗?
I can help you (to) do the homework. 我可以帮你做作业。
(3)在see, hear等感官动词后作宾补时省略to。如:
I saw her enter the hospital. 我看见她进了这家医院。
We often hear her sing this song. 我们经常听到她唱这首歌。
注意:当以上几种动词用于被动语态时,to不可省略。如:
The machine was made to run quickly. 机器被弄得快速运转。
We were helped by the teacher to do the work. 我们由老师帮助做这项工作。
He was seen to fall from the tree. 有人看到他从树上掉下来。
