One possible version:
Good morning! My name is Li Hua. It’s my honor to introduce China’s protection of Tibetan
antelopes to you. They were once threatened with extinction, as they were illegally hunted for profit and
newly built roads and railways reduced their living spaces. In order to save them, the Chinese government
set up nature reserves where volunteers watched over them. Bridges and gates were also added for their
safety. Due to these measures, their population has recovered. In my opinion, we should continue
protecting them, since the threats to them haven’t disappeared. Besides, it’s a good idea if the UK and
China can work together to build a better tomorrow for wildlife.
Thank you!
听力部分原文
第一节
(Text 1)
M: I have two tickets for tonight’s show. Could you come
W: I’d love to, but the history teacher will give us a test tomorrow and I haven’t got prepared
for it.
(Text 2)
M: Which coat did you finally buy
W: Well, the green one cost $75, so I bought the brown one instead and saved $15.
M: That sounds great.
(Text 3)
M: I hope I don’t oversleep. I have got to catch the first flight.
W: If I were you, I’d request the waiter to call from the front desk.
(Text 4)
W: I thought we could check out as many books as we need with a student ID.
M: That’s right, but not those reference books.
(Text 5)
W: To teach those students English, do you have to speak their language quite well
M: No, quite the opposite. They improve greatly when the class is organized in the foreign
language.

第二节
(Text 6)
W: Gerry, let’s make a plan for our trip to London.
M: Okay, let’s start with the kids I don’t think Sally would like the zoo. She always feels
sorry for the animals but she’s been asking about the London Eye for weeks, so we have
to go there.
W: You’re right. What about Billy He loves boats, so it’s either the Thames or the zoo.
M: Of course the Thames for Billy. What about a trip to Covent Garden
W: That would be great. There are a lot of museums in and around Covent Garden.
(Text 7)
M: Grandma
W: Yes, Mike.
M: I’ve noticed that it’s getting harder for you and Granddad to do some of your daily
activities. I’d be happy to help out.
W: Well, we do find it a bit difficult to go to the supermarket every day.
M: I’d be glad to help you with that a few days a week if you’d like.
W: Really That would be great.
M: And let me give you a hand with the cleaning. Where’s the cleaner
W: It’s OK, dear. I can manage that by myself.
(Text 8)
M: Hi Vivian. How was your meal last night
W: Actually, it didn’t go too well. Firstly, we couldn’t get around the table. We’d booked for
six people, but eight came, so we had to wait almost half an hour for another table to get
seated.
M: Oh dear!
W: Then they brought Mark the wrong dish. He ordered chicken but they brought him fish,
so he sent it back, and then he had to wait again for his steak.
M: What about your meal
W: The food was delicious, especially the soup. Everything was perfect — until the bill
arrived.
M: Was it expensive
W: Well, it was quite expensive, but we knew that from before. The problem was they gave
us the bill for a different table. It took half an hour for them to fix the problem! In the
end, we only paid half the price because of all the problems with the bill.
M: Well, that’s something at least.

M: I’m going to go to the golf course because I’m playing golf on Saturday.
W: You’re golfing without me What’s up with that
M: Sorry, but we already have a group of four people. I’m going with a couple of guys from
work.
W: Where are you playing
M: Washington National. Have you been there before
W: I’ve been there a couple of times. It’s a great course. You know the Huskies play there,
right
M: I didn’t know that. Is it a hard course
W: It’s pretty challenging.
M: Do you want to come along
W: I can’t this Friday. I’m playing basketball with some friends that night.
M: At night
W: Yeah. We’re playing indoors at a school gym.
M: A tryout for the championship
W: No, just a weekly practice. Nothing special.
M: I never got into basketball. It’s fun and all, but I just can’t master it.
W: It’s still great exercise. I get a better workout from basketball than I do from the gym.
M: That’s true.
(Text 10)
W: Elizabeth Blackwell was born in England in 1821, and moved to New York City when
she was ten years old. One day she decided to become a doctor. That was nearly
impossible for a woman in the middle of the nineteenth century. After writing many letters
to apply to medical schools, she was finally accepted by a doctor in Philadelphia. She
taught at a middle school and gave music lessons to earn money for her study. In 1849,
after graduation from medical school, she decided to further her education in Paris. But a
serious eye illness forced her to give up the idea. Upon returning to the United States, she
found it difficult to start her own practice because she was a woman. By 1857 Elizabeth
and her sister, also a doctor, along with another female doctor managed to open a new
hospital, the first for women and children. Besides being the first female doctor and
founding her own hospital, she also set up the first medical school for women.
