1)police意为 “警察;警方”,与people用法相类似,为集合名词。

2) each还可作代词:
①可单独作主语,也可接介词of;“each of +复数名词/代词”作主语时, 谓语动词通常用单数形式。
I asked all the children and each told a different story.
我问过所有的孩子,每个人的说法都不一样。
Each of the boys was given an apple.(注意谓语动词)
给了每个男孩一个苹果。
②可用作复数名词或代词的同位语。此时谓语动词用复数形式。

1)短语the same way 前省略了介词in。same 和different是一对反义词,前者表示“相同的;同样的”,后者表示 “不同的;有区别的”
same作为形容词时往往用在名词之前,且之前往往有定冠词the。

the same person 同样的人;同一个人
2) differently是different的副词形式,在句中修饰动词,表示 “不同地;有区别地”
3) people 和 person
people表示“人;人们”,为复数名词;
person 为单个的人,有复数形式。two persons 两个人

当also 用于句首时,其后往往有逗号与向子的其他部分隔开。这时,also修饰整个句子,相当于汉语中的 “同时;还;而且”。

also表示“也”,往往位于句中be动词或情态动词之后、实义动词之前。

结构,相当于“基数词(大于1)+more+可数名词复数”。

4)one...another (不确定范围)一个……另一个……
one...the other (两者中的)一个……另一个……
