How to Make a Family Tree
On the family tree, we should write the names, birth dates and hobbies of different family members. We can also use photos. Of course, we can write the interesting stories on it.
If there is a new baby in the family, we should add him or her to the family tree.

Language points
too...to 太……而不能
too是副词,后跟形容词或副词;to为动词不定式符号,后跟动词原形。
e.g. He is too young to look after himself.

可转换为so...that结构。
e.g. The box is too heavy for me to carry.
这个箱子太沉了,我搬不动。
The box is so heavy that I can't carry it.
这个箱子如此沉,以至于我不能搬动它。
choose /t u z/ v.选择
其过去式和过去分词分别为chose,chosen
choose...as 选……作为
e.g. We chose Amy as our new monitor.
我们选埃米作为我们的新班长。
choose...from 从……中选择
e.g. You can choose a book from these books.
你可以从这些书中选一本。
choose的名词形式为choice。
常用结构有:make a choice 意为“作出选择”;
have no choice but to do sth.意为“别无选择只能做某事”。
e.g. I have no choice but to call the police.
我别无选择只能报警。
be useful for对……有用
be useful for后跟名词、代词、动词的 ing形式。
e.g. Dictionaries are useful for learning English.
字典对学英语有用。
be useful to sb.意为“对于某人来说是有用的”。
e.g. English is useful to us.
英语对于我们来说是有用的。
lively /'la vl / adj.充满活力的,生动有趣的
lively作形容词,同义词为active。以 ly结尾的形容词还有friendly,lovely。容易被误认为是副词。
e.g. She has a lively mind.
她头脑活跃。
