T: Girls and boys, look! What are on the screen
( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )
Ss: Tigers.
T: What do you think of them
Ss: They are beautiful and lovely.
T: Who volunte ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ers to tell us something about this kind of animal in our country
S1: There are mainly t ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )hree kinds of tigers native to China. They are the Siberian tiger, the South China tiger and the Bengalese tiger.
S2: And do they belong to the cat family.
T: You are quite right. But which kind of the tigers is the largest
S3: The Siberian ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )tiger is the largest living cat in the world. 21*cnjy*com
T: Why did you say so
S3: Because Siberian ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )tigers can be 9 to 12 feet long (from head to the tip of their tail) and are about 3 and 1/2 feet tall. Female tigers are somewhat smaller than the male tigers, and they can weigh between 400 to 650 pounds.
S4: It is said t ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )hat they need to eat about 20 pounds of meat a day to stay alive in the cold climates. It can consume up to 200 pounds of meat a day. 2·1·c·n·j·y
S5: In the ha ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )rsh Siberian winter the tiger’s coat will lose some of its color. The winter coat doesn’t have the red stripes of tigers from warmer climates. The white coat also helps to camouflage it in the snow. It also grows a longer and thicker coat than other tigers to help it survive the cold weather.
S6: Siberian tigers ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) mostly live in eastern Russia and some are found in north eastern China and North Korea. Even though there have been many wars, the Siberia tigers are still alive.
S7: The Siberian tig ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )er is endangered and almost extinct now. At the beginning of the century, there were about one hundred thousand wild tigers. But at present there are only (estimated) three hundred and sixty to four hundred and six in the wild; four hundred ninety are held in zoo conservation programs.
S8: They are i ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )n danger because people hunt them. People in China use different parts of their body for medicine to cure diseases. They use weird parts of their body like their brains, eyes and tails. They are also being killed because they sell their bones, whiskers and other parts for money.
S9: Another threat is ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) the habitat loss. They are losing their habitat because people keep cutting down trees and there isn’t enough land for them. People also kill tigers to protect themselves and their livestock.
T: Very good! Yo ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )u know much more than I. But who can explain “animals in danger” to the class
S10: I think anima ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ls’ extinction is natural according to Darwin’s theory. But if the speed of the animals’ extinction is too fast, we can say they are in danger.
T: You’ve go ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )t it. Do you know the reasons why many animals are in danger
S11: Most of the reasons are related to human activities.21cnjy.com
T: You are qu ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ite right. Man is really playing an important part. Can you list some of them 21*cnjy*com
Ss: 1. They are killed for body parts or food.
2. People want them for pets.
3. People have moved into their habitat.
4. They are killed by pollution.
5. They are also killed by climate change.
T: Very good! No ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )w work in groups to discuss what the most important reason is according to the list on the screen.
A few minutes later.
T: What’s your opinion
Ss: We think No. 1 is the most important reason.
T: Maybe you are right. But who can give us some examples 2·1·c·n·j·y
S12: African elephan ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ts have been hunted for their tusks for a long time. The so-called “ivory” was used as a source of all kinds of ornaments.
S13: Here I have an ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )other example. The snow leopard is one of the most beautiful of the big cats and for many years the main threat to the species is hunting for its fur.
T: OK. Read th ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )e passage on page 51 and discuss the question: What can we do to help the animals in their struggle for survival 【来源:21·世纪·教育·网】
After reading and discussing.
T: Who volunteers to tell us your opinions
S14: We can save ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) them by writing a letter to the government, starting a petition to make laws or take some other measures to save the animals.2·1·c·n·j·y
S15: We can join some ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) Animal Conservation Organizations to help to protect them.
S16: I can do li ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ttle now but in the future I can save them by adopting an animal from a zoo or making a donation to an Animal Conservation Organization.
T: Good! Every ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )body can make a difference if we have a try. Now read the passage again to find the words to match the meanings in the form on the screen. After a few minutes, check the answers together.【来源:21cnj*y.co*m】2-1-c-n-j-y

T: Work in grou ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ps. Follow the steps in Activity 1 of SPEAKING and talk about an animal in danger.
A sample discussion:
S1: We are concerned a ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )bout the future of the snow leopard. The snow leopard is one of the most beautiful big cats and for many years the main threat to the species was hunting for its fur. The fur trade has decreased internationally in recent years, but other threats have manifested themselves and the species is still threatened.
S2: I’m worried about ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) the threats to them. One threat is that herders are increasingly moving their flocks into snow leopard territory and exhausting the local grazing. This affects the snow leopard in two ways. First, domestic livestock compete with wild sheep and goats for scarce grazing. This pushes the wild prey away to other areas. Snow leopards are territorial and if their natural prey is replaced by domestic livestock they will kill them instead. This leads to the second consequence: herders will kill snow leopards in retaliation for killing their animals.
S3: It’s rea ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )lly upsetting. Another threat is large-scale poisoning of small mammal populations. This has not only affected snow leopards, but also the other predators which feed on them.
S4: Recent reports i ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ndicate that the snow leopard has been killed for its bones. These are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as substitutes for tiger bones. The plight of the tiger is well-known and its bones are banned from international trade. The trade in snow leopard and clouded leopard bones has flourished while the spotlight of publicity has focused on the higher-profile tigers.
S5: I think we ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )should do more to protect snow leopards. First WWF should have projects in the countries where snow leopards can be found in order to help fund anti-poaching patrols (as WWF has so successfully pioneered for Siberian tigers) in Mongolia, education program and a field study manual in Nepal, and surveys and a public awareness program in Pakistan.
S6: I think the ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )local government should be involved in implementing the Snow Leopard Survival Strategy. This will guide snow leopard conservation for years to come and relies upon integrating the needs of local people with those of snow leopards. Activities within the strategy include anti-poaching patrols, compensation schemes (in which the whole village pays into a fund and any money accrued after a period of time is paid back to each villager as a “dividend”) and repair of corrals. These are stone shelters in which livestock are kept at night. By making them “predator-proof”, snow leopards will not be able to get in and kill the livestock.
S7: My opini ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )on is that the snow leopard, in common with all the big cats, should be listed on Appendix 1 of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), which is the highest international protection currently available.
S8: It can also be ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) protected by laws. I hope more laws should be made in the countries involved according to their different threats such as punishing the poachers seriously, banning on poisoning small mammals .We believe that only by involving local communities in conservation strategies can we hope to secure a long-term future for this most beautiful of big cats.

Some plants provide a good environment for animals, and the animals may in turn help the plants by adding nutrients. That is to say, animals eat the plants and animals help the plants reproduce. We human-beings mainly live on plants and animals. They are our food, medicine and so on. If a species die out, it will break the balance of nature and affect the other living things including human beings. So we have to prevent the animals from dying out. In other words, to protect animals and other species is to protect ourselves.

It can be only found in oceans, especially in the Arctic and the Antarctic Waters. It preys on plankton, a kind of small micro-organism. The main threat to it is hunting for its oil and meat. Today the animal is almost extinct. It is said less than 5,000 are still alive. Maybe the total population is no more than 2,000.
S2: African Elephan ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )t is the world’s biggest land animal, which weighs about 5 tons. Its habitats are mainly in forests, river valleys and semi-desert south of Sahara Desert in Africa. It feeds on plants such as grass, leaves, fruit and so on. African elephants have been hunted for their tusks for a long time. The so called “ivory” was used as a source of all kinds of ornaments. There were about 1.3 million of them in 1980, but now it has fallen to 400,000.
S3: Northern Bald Ibi ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )s is a large black bird which is famous for its long red peak. It mainly lives in Morocco and some other coastal areas. Many kinds of animals such as insects, small reptiles, even frogs and fishes fall prey to it. What has made it on the brink of extinction is still a puzzle. Some experts believe it’s owing to the nature itself. Only 200 — 300 can be found now. People in Middle East are said to have seen the birds recently.21教育网

S1: My title is ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )Saving Hainan Gibbon Hainan gibbon is a member of primate, which is one of the world four gibbons. It is the smallest ape and looks like a monkey with long arms. It can be found in the thick forest in tropical and subtropical areas and lives in trees all year around no matter when it is resting or eating something. It can jump from tree to tree on its long arms and its hooked hands swiftly. Occasionally he walks on the ground with its body half standing and its two arms lifted above its head or bend on its sides. The way it walks is rather funny. It lives in groups and can cry for a long time at a time. Twigs and tender leaves are its main prey. But with the over-development of the local economy around its habitat, many trees have been cut down and its habitat has been greatly reduced. This has made it an endangered animal. Its total number was only 20 in 1998. In order to prevent it from extinction we should stop over-developing and cutting down too many trees. We can build Gibbon reserves, plant more trees, and make laws to protect it.
S2: I’ m goi ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ng to talk about Saiga. Saiga is a member of Bovidae family. It is a type of graceful animal whose nose is rather large. Its coat is yellow brown but white on its stomach and turns grey in winter. The adult male Saiga has horns and can run very fast. It lives in deserts and semi-deserts mainly in small groups but sometimes in large groups and feeds on grass. It is native to the Zhungeer Basin but has been hunted for its horn for a long time, which is used as rare and expensive traditional Chinese medicine. So Saiga in the wild is almost extinct now. According to a recent survey from WWF, its number in Inner Mongolia has fallen down to 750 from 5,200 four years ago. I think we should make laws to prohibit trading its horns, and build reserves and national parks to protect it, call on volunteers and supporters to help and ask WWF for help.

21·cn·jy·com
21cnjy.com
www.21-cn-jy.com

Pandas which main ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )ly live in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces are known as the national treasure of China. Pandas with white and black fur weigh an average of 200 to 300 pounds and reach six feet in length. They feed mainly on bamboo. As a symbol of friendship, pandas are often sent to many foreign countries as gifts.
Due to the loss of ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )their habitat, the population of pandas has fallen. Now there are only about 1,600 pandas in the wild and about 300 in zoos in China.
Now many measures have ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) been taken to protect pandas, and their population is on the increase. However, we should do more to make an ideal habitat for them.
Milu Deer
Milu, which is called ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )Sibuxiang in Chinese, belongs to the family of deer. It is a breast-feeding animal that lives mainly on grass, root, leaf, and fresh new shoot. It’s a kind of biggest in size in the deer family with height of 2.25 meters and it weighs about one ton. milu deer originated in the wet and low land areas in our country and were once mostly hunted by people. As the process of natural changes and over-huntedness, milu disappeared in the wild. But they became the animals for hunting game in the Royal garden. But unfortunately in 1890, the milu deer raised by people were killed in the floods and wars, therefore they extincted in China. Between 1894 and 1901, an English Duke (Duke of Bedford) adopted 18 milu deer which were in Europe then and raised up to now. In 1985, the Environmental Protection Department of China signed an agreement with the British to introduce the milu deer into China. 38 milu deer were brought to China from the U.K. and several breeding and raising sites have been set up ever since.

引导词: as, who, whom, whose, which, of which, when, where等,不用that或why,不能省略

The boys who are playing football are from Class One.
A person who steals things is called a thief.
2. whom
The man (whom/who) I talked to is Mr. Li.
The man to whom I talked is Mr. Li.
3. whose
He has a friend whose father is a doctor.
The classroom whose door is broken will soon be repaired. =The classroom the door of which is broken will soon be repaired.
Do you like the book whose cover is yellow =Do you like the book the cover of
which is yellow
Do you know the girl whose hair is
very short in our class
Do you know the girl
Her hair is very short in our class.
He is the student.
I broke his pencil yesterday.
He is the student whose pencil I
broke yesterday.
1) Football is a game which is liked by most boys.
2) The film ( which ) they went to see
last night was not interesting at all.
5. that指人时,相当于who 或whom;指 物时,相当于which。
1). Where is the man that / whom I saw this morning
2). The season that / which comes after
spring is summer.
Have you taken down everything that Mr. Li said
There seems to be nothing that is impossible to him in the world.
(1) 限制性定语从句中先行词为all, few, everything, anything, nothing, none, little, some等不定代词指物时。(something用that或which均可)
(2)There be 句型中用that。
There is a book on the desk that belongs to Tom.
This is the first book (that) he has read.
This is the best film (that) I have ever seen.
This is the first time (that) I am in Beijing.
Who is the girl that drove the car
Which is the T-shirt that fits me most
They talked about the persons and things that they remembered at school.
(6)先行词被all, every, no, some, any, little, much, the only, the very, the last, just, right等修饰。
I’ve read all the books that are not mine.
This is the very book that belongs to him.
Those are many trees under which they can have a rest.
Football, which is a very popular game, is played all over the world.
He may be late, in which case, we should wait for him.
相当于 “and this” 或 “and that”. 常带有“正如”之意,且已形成固定结构: as is known, as is reported, as is said, as is expected, as we know, etc.
1. Einstein, as is known, is a famous scientist.
2. As is reported, China has become an
important country in the world.
3. Taiwan belongs to China, as is known to
all.
4. Bamboo is hollow, which makes it very
light.
5. He didn’t come to attend the meeting, as
is expected.
He is very strict, as is shown in his work.
4. 先行词前有the same, such限定时,关 系词只能用as.
I have the same opinion as you (have).
Don’t read such books as are beyond your ability.
She wore the same dress as her younger sister wore.
She wore the same dress that she wore at Mary’s wedding.
Tom was late for school again and
again, which made his teacher very
angry.
I’ll never forget the day when I joined the league.
on which
I’ll never forget the time which/that was spent with you.
This is the house where I lived two years ago.
in which
The library (which/that) you visited yesterday was built in 1990.
There are cases where this rule does not hold good.
Can you think of a situation where this word can be used
Do you know the reason why she was late.
The reason why / for which he refused the invitation is quite clear.
the reason why…is that… ……
The reason why he resigned was that
he quarreled with his boss.
Mencius believed that the reason why man is different from animals is that man is good.
在the reason why …
3. the reason is that…
I shall never forget those years ______ I
lived in the country with the farmers,
______ has a great effect on my life.
A. that; which B. when; which
C. which; that D. when; who
2】 Carol said the work would be done by October, ____ personally I doubt very much.
A. it B. that C. when D. which
John said he’d been working in the office for an hour, ______ was true. A. he B. this C. which D. who
Alice received an invitation from her boss, ___came as a surprise.
A. it B. that C. which D. he
The weather turned out to be very good,
___ was more than we could expect.
A. what B. which C. that D. it
The English play ____ my students acted at the New Year’s party was a great success.
A. for which B. at which C. in which D. on which
My students acted in the English play at the New Year’s party, 所以答案为C。
Is this museum ___ you visited a few days ago. A. where B. that C. on which D. the one
只有the one既做了主句的表语,又可做从句的宾语,可以省略关系代词,相当于:the one that/which 所以应选D。
Is this the museum ____ the exhibition was held A. where B. that C. on which D. the one
The journey around the world took the
old sailor nine months, ____ the sailing
time was 226 days.
A. of which B. during which C. From which D. for which

引导定语从句的关系代词有that, whic ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )h, who, whom, whose等。其中who和 whom只能指人;which只能指物;that和whose既能指人又能指物。如:
Do you know the people who / that live over the road 21教育网
The author whom you criticized in your review has written a reply.
Did you see the letter ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) that / which came this morning www.21-cn-jy.com
Ben is a man whose opinion I respect.
It’s the house whose door’s painted red.
注意:指物时tha ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )t和which常可互换,但以下情况只能用that不能用which:①先行词被形容词最高级修饰时;②先行词有序数词或only, very, last等修饰时;③先行词为all, little, much, everything, nothing等不定代词时;④先行词被the same, the only, the very, the right, all, every, any, much, little, no等修饰时;⑤主句是以which, who, what 开头的特殊疑问句时。

The hotel whe ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )re / in which we stayed wasn’t very clean.21cnjy.com21cnjy.com

What and when is Earth Day
When I first conceiv ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ed of Earth Day, a global holiday to celebrate the wonder of life on our planet, I thought long and hard about the day on which it should fall. It must be meaningful. One that might be accepted universally for all of humankind. When the Vernal Equinox dawned on me, I immediately knew it was right. The Earth tremor that shook our California dwelling at that moment seemed an omen of confirmation. What could be more appropriate than the first moment of Spring, when day and night are equal around the world and hearts and minds can join together with thoughts of harmony and Earth’s rejuvenation. Just as a single prayer can be significant, how much more so when hundreds, thousands, millions of people throughout the world join in peaceful thoughts and prayers to nurture neighbor and nature. And so it came to pass we initiated the celebration of Earth Day on March 21, 1970. The first Proclamation of Earth Day was by San Francisco, the City of Saint Francis, patron saint of ecology. Designating the First Day of Spring, March 21, 1970 to be Earth Day, this day of nature’s equipoise was later sanctioned in a Proclamation signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations where it is observed each year. Earth Day was firmly established for all time on a sound basis as an annual event to deepen reverence and care for life on our planet. While other dates have been called Earth Day it is obvious that a singular Earth Day is needed and that the original choice of nature’s day is best. More attention for this fact will increase the influence of Earth Day and its benefits. Every effort to encourage Earth care is to be commended. But just as more than one birthday each year for an individual would diminish the real birthday, calling other dates Earth Day detracts from the authentic day -- which can provide a more meaningful focus and obtain more unity in our diversity. The nature of the March equinox provides a reason for an event at the same time all over the world. Other events leading up to or following could be called Earth Festivals, or given other names. Then events can complement each other and increase awareness and care for our planet and its people. In the midst of this will be Earth Day, where the United Nations Peace Bell rings at the moment Spring begins and hearts and minds join all over the world.

The Genial Monkeys of Emei
Many of China’s b ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )eautiful mountainous areas are home to monkeys, the most famous monkeys resort being Emei Mountain. Perhaps affected by the mountain’s Buddhist atmosphere, Emei’s monkeys are gentle and often approach tourists for food and play. Presently, there a ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )re over 1,000 Emei monkeys of the Tibetan macaque species—a unique quadrumane in China. The most famous are those that interact with and are fed by tourists.21教育网
The monkeys are ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) fed promptly at 9 am. They stand in lines, like children at kindergartens, and wait for the rangers to come around with food. As rangers in the ecological district whistle and use gongs, the monkeys know to come to the same place every day.21cnjy.com
Emei’s is ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )the biggest natural ecological monkey district in China. It’s only one kilometer from the famous “two bridges and clear sound,” one of the ten must-see tourists destinations on Emei Mountain. With a range of 10 square kilometers, an altitude of 750-1,200 meters and 95 percent forest cover, the mountain area provides a favorable ecological environment for monkeys.

Some people ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )say summer is the time when teachers should get more pay. But not everyone is grateful to teachers for keeping kids occupied (无空闲的) between August and June: Washington state representative Liz Pike has written a Facebook post, titled “A life in the day of a WA state representative,” and responded to teachers’ complaints of rising costs of living. The post has received criticism for being anti-teacher. After reading her post, I feel that Liz Pike should rethink her criticism of public school teaching and avoid comparing it to the private school.
Many of us teac ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )hers would certainly like teaching to be more like the private school. We see nothing wrong with fair pay for fair performance. In fact, performance is the name of the game. With standardized testing popular throughout K-12 education, teachers are some of the most analyzed and performance-measured employees in the United States. Liz Pike is very angry that teachers want raises even while test scores are dropping. Well, how are we supposed to have discipline in the classroom when our hands are tied and we can hardly do anything with naughty students or fail students who are not prepared to move on to the next grade
Teachers would ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )love to be able to turn education around and improve student performance. But we can’t, and we should not suffer for it. Unlike private school businesses, public schools cannot turn away “customers”. A private school business serves customers who walk through the door of their own free will, while public schools have to educate students who only attend because courts say they must.
She says those wh ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )o are “uninspired” by a lack of a cost of living increase should give up teaching. Is this the message that she thinks should be sent to the students whose academic performance she claims to care so much about That “if you love it you’ll shut up and not stand up for yourself” I think teachers should stand up for themselves and I also think supporting teachers can make teachers teach children how to stand up for themselves.【来源:21·世纪·教育·网】【来源:21·世纪·教育·网】21·cn·jy·com

The howl (嗥叫) is a well-known method wolves use to communicate with each other. While howling, wolves often change their voices a lot. As a result, people are sometimes “fooled” into believing that there are more wolves than there really are. People have often guessed, after listening to howls, that a pack (群) of wolves contained up to 20 individuals, when there were only 3 or 4. Some people have thought that wolves do that on purpose, in order to fool neighboring packs into believing that there are more animals present than there really are. However, many naturalists and wolf biologists do not accept that idea.
Wolves seem to howl ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 )for many reasons. They often howl before they go on a hunt, possibly to get the pack together, and they often begin to howl after a successful hunt. That suggests that howling serves to bring a pack together, since wolves often become separated from each other during a hunt. They do not, however, howl while they are hunting. In addition, a wolf may howl alone if it is having trouble locating its pack. Surprisingly, pack members seem to recognize each other’s voices, since individual wolves often have their own way of howling. Wolves will also howl in sadness after the death of their mates.
Wolf packs may ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com" \o "欢迎登陆21世纪教育网 ) also howl to communicate with other packs, as two different wolf packs will sometimes answer each other’s howls. Wolves will also often answer the calls of humans who are pretending to howl like wolves. Wolves howl less often during May and June than they do during the rest of the year. This may be because that is the time that packs are most likely to have young pups (幼崽) present. It is possible that wolf packs who have young pups present often keep silent so they do not attract attention to their location, since pups can be easily hurt by predators (捕食性动物) like bears.21教育网【版权所有:21教育】【来源:21·世纪·教育·网】21教育网21教育网21cnjy.com
