Language practice
e.g. (1) While the lights were changing to red, a car suddenly appeared round the corner.
(2) One day, when Henry was working in a restaurant, a snake suddenly appeared.
(3) I was trying to pick it up when it bit me again.
(4) As the doctors were checking him, the pain got worse.
e.g. As my mother sang those old songs, tears ran down her cheeks.
The students took notes as they listened.
e.g. They arrived while we were having dinner.
They arrived when we were having dinner.
e.g. We were talking when the teacher came in.
While we were talking, the teacher came in.
e.g. They were singing while we were dancing.
