1. 有的英文诗分成几节(stanza),每节由若干诗行组成;有的诗则不分节。
2. 诗每行的第一个字母都大写,但是一诗行不一定是一个完整的句子,不一定能表达完整的意思。有时一行诗正好是一句,有时两行甚至许多行才构成一个意思完整的句子。
3. 押韵。常见押韵:头韵指一行(节)诗中几个词开头的辅音相同。押在诗行最后一个重读音节上,叫尾韵。这是诗歌最常见的押韵部位。诗行中间停顿处的重读音节与该行最后一个重读音节押韵者,叫行内韵。也有不少是不押韵的,称无韵诗或白体诗。多用在戏剧和叙事诗中。

在英语中,“韵”指的是单词相同的发音,而不光是单词的拼写,如“calm—arm”,“light—height”, “time—rhyme”,“no—know”,“today—away”,这五对词,尽管每对词拼写不一样,但每一对词中的元音或元音后面辅音的发音都相同,所以它们都分别押韵。诗人更注重语言的音乐性,他们常常通过语言的音乐性来烘托或加强他们所要表达的思想内容。

care about意为“在意,在乎,关心”;care for意为“照顾”。
【拓展】 (1)take care小心。
(2)take care of“照看;照顾”,相当于look after。
