Fun Activities for Children That Are Stuck Inside
Make Your Own Clothes
There are plenty of things you can do to improve your regular clothes. While you might want to use a cheap white T-shirt, there's so much you can do to it. You can use tie-dye, spin art, or fabric markers to create your own unique clothes. All of the other students will be jealous that their parents aren't as fun as you!
Bring the Outdoors Inside
Something a lot of kids like to do, even if it's just in the yard, is camping. It's a good way for children to enjoy something out of the usual while they're also using their imagination. So, if you're in a situation where you're stuck inside, bring the feeling of camping indoors. You can do this by setting up a real tent. You can also make traditional camping food inside to really feel like you're out in the wilderness!
Have an Indoor Treasure Hunt.
If you are having a treasure hunt, whether it's inside or outside, you and your young ones are sure to have fun. Choose items (物品) around your house and write them down as a list on a piece of paper. Then, let your little ones run around the house to see who can collect all of the items first. Don't forget to give the players a special prize once they have found all of the items.
Fingerprint Art Is Always a Hit
One of the extremely popular arts to do inside is known as fingerprint art. Children put their fingers in paint and place them on a piece of paper. They can then draw on and around their fingerprint to create whatever they feel like. Furthermore, there are also books on how to make a variety of fingerprint art in the form of animals that could be fun for children to learn as well!

Sixteen years ago a boy gave me an important gift. It was a smile. It was the early autumn of my first year at a middle school, and my old school was far away. As a result, no one knew who I was. I was very lonely, and afraid to speak to anyone.
Every time I heard the other students talking and laughing, I felt my heart break. I couldn't talk with anyone about my problems. Then one day, when my classmates were talking happily with their friends, I was sitting at my desk unhappily as usual. At that moment, a boy entered the classroom. I didn't know who he was. He passed by me and then turned back. He looked at me, with a smile.
Suddenly, I felt the touch of something bright and friendly. It made me feel happy and warm. That smile changed my life. I started to talk with other students and make friends. Day by day, I became closer to everyone in my class. The boy with the lucky smile has become my best friend now.
One day I asked him why he had smiled, but he couldn't remember doing so! It doesn't matter because all the dark days have gone. I believe that the world is what you think it is. If you think it is lonely, you might always be alone. So smile at the world and it will smile back.
34.When did the writer get the gift
A. At the age of 16. B. After making friends with the boy.
C. In the first year at a middle school. D. After becoming closer to everyone in the class.
35.Why was the smile an important gift
A. Because the writer's old school was far away.
B. Because the writer didn't know who the boy was.
C. Because the smile didn't mean anything to the boy.
D. Because it made the writer feel happy and warm.
36.Why didn't the writer talk to anyone in her new school about her problems
A. Because she was always unhappy.
B. Because she didn't know anyone at the time.
C. Because she was in the first year at the junior high school.
D. Because she didn't want her parents to worry about her.
37.How did the smile change her life
A. She started to make friends.
B. She became the best friend of the boy.
C. Her parents didn't worry about her any more.
D. She realized that she was lonely.

On my first round-the-world trip in 2006, I planned everything out in advance. I knew where I was going, how long I would stay, and how I would get there. But halfway through the trip I ditched the plan and went with the flow. Over the years, how I plan my travel has changed. Now, I'm a last-minute planner and seldom travel with any plan.
Travelling without a plan gives you great flexibility (灵活性). Since nothing is booked far in advance, you can turn to something different when you change your mind or something better comes along. I changed my plans to meet a friend on an island in Thailand and stayed for a month. I wouldn't have had that experience if I had kept to my planned schedule.
However, most new travellers are the opposite—they overplan their trips. Their whole journey is scheduled. Two days here, and three days there. I understand why people do that. When time is short, you want to see as much as possible. You don't want to waste a single second.
Actually, it is better to slow down your pace. Spending more time in one place allows you to get a better feeling for the rhythm (节奏) of life. You can visit at a more relaxed pace, see more than just the attractions, and open up your schedule to the happy accidents of travel.
When I first made my travel plan, I tried to include everything in it. Then I realized it was unrealistic, and revised my plan. I came up with one or two things I wanted to see each day and spaced everything out. It's an important lesson to learn. I think the best trip plan is to work out the general path you want to take, book the first few nights of your trip, and let your travel unfold (展现) from there. This way you are never locked into a certain place if your feelings change.

41.What is the best title for the text
A. Travelling: Play More, Pay Less. B. Why I Enjoy Travelling Around.

For some people, walking or running outdoors is a great way to work out. What may not be so pleasant is seeing trash all over the ground. Well, some people are doing something about it. They are plogging!
“Plogging” began in Sweden. The name combines the Swedish word “plocka”, which means to pick up, and the word “jogging”, which means to run slowly. A Swedish man named Erik, started the movement in 2016. On the World Environment Day website, Erik says that he moved to Stockholm from a small community in northern Sweden. Each day he would ride his bike to work. Concerned about the amount of trash and litter he saw each day on his way to work, he took matters into his own hands.
Plogging, by that term, may have officially begun in Sweden. But many people who exercise outdoors have been doing this for years. Take Jeff Horowitz for example. He is a personal trainer in Washington, DC. He often picks up trash while running outside. He even has turned it into a game; he will try to pick up the trash without stopping. “I didn t know it was a thing really. This is just my personal ethic(道德标准). When I go for a run and happen to see a piece of garbage lying around and it s within my reach, it will be a kind of a little test for me to see if I can grab it and throw it in a near trash can without stopping. And that way, I think,it gives me a little exercise and a little focus for my run. And it helps clean up the neighborhood,” he announced.
Today, plogging is an official activity, one that is becoming increasingly popular. Cities around the world now hold plogging events. “I would just hope people would think twice before dropping a piece of garbage on the ground. We have containers that seem on every block. So, it s easy to put your garbage in the trash cans. I just think people should think about it a little bit more. I do hope one day there will not be a need for plogging,” said an interviewee.
42.Which of the following can replace(取代) the underlined phrase “took matters into his own hands”?
A. Called on people to join him. B. Appealed to people to go green.
C. Began to pick up the trash. D. Had the collected trash recycled.

A. Plogging comes naturally to joggers who care about the environment.
B. Plogging is an easy way to clean the environment.
C. It doesn t make any sense to jog without picking up trash.
D. It is better to clean up the neighborhood by plogging.
44.What idea are the plogging events meant to promote
A. Jogging is truly beneficial. B. Trash cans should be within one s reach.
C. Littering is not acceptable. D. Communities should be kept clean.
