(2)watch sb./sth.do sth.观看某人/某物做某事,意指看见事情已经完成或者看到全过程;,watch sb./sth.doing sth.观看某人/某物正在做某事,强调事情正在进行。
常见的有相同用法的动词还有:see,hear,notice(注意到)等。
e.g. She watched the kids playing in the yard. 她看着孩子们在院子里玩。
I watched him put on his coat and go out.我看见他穿上外套,出去了。
(3)go up意为“上升,增长”;反义词组go down表示“下降,降低”。
e.g.Let’s go up to the office. 咱们上楼到办公室去。
The prices are going up/down.物价正在上升/下降。
四　语法梳理
1. 英文书信的书写格式:
(1)信头(Heading):指发信人的地址和日期,写在信纸的右上角,可以从靠近信纸的中央写起,信头上面需留空白,先写发信地址,且在地址下面写上日期。
(2)称呼(Salutation):是写信人对收信人的称呼用语。位置在信内地址下方一、二行的地方,从该行的顶格写起,在称呼后面一般用逗号(英式),也可以用冒号(美式)。
e.g.Dear Xiaozheng,亲爱的小郑,
(3)正文(Body of the Letter):指信的整体部分,位置在称呼语下面隔一行,是信的核心部分。
(4)结束语(Complimentary Close):指正文下面的结尾客套话,一般在正文下面的一、二行处,从信纸的中间偏右处开始,第一个词首字母要大写,句末用逗号。
e.g.Yours sincerely,您忠诚的,
(5)签名(signature):指发信人签名,写在结束语下面,稍偏右。对于比较亲密的收信方,可以只签名不加姓,在正式信函中姓和名字都签上。
2. 英文信封的写法:
(1)在信封的左上角写寄信人的名字和住址。
(2)在信封的中间或右下角偏左的地方写收信人的名字和住址。
(3)寄信人不自称先生(Mr.)、女士(Mrs.)或小姐(Miss),但是在收信人的姓名前则可视情况加上尊称,以示礼貌。
(4)住址的写法与中文相反。英文住址原则上是由小至大,如必须先写门牌号码、街路名称,再写城市、省(州)和邮政区号,最后一行则写上国家的名称。
(5)在信封的右上角贴上邮票。
(6)我国信封上的邮政编码由六位数组成。前两位数表示省(直辖市、自治区);第三位数表示邮区;第四位数表示县(市);最后两位数表示投递局(所)。
