Lanterns have been around for about 1,800 years. They were first used for lighting in the old days. Today, they are used at festivals and other celebrations. Chinese people love lanterns very much because they're symbols of good luck and family reunion.
From Spring Festival to Lantern Festival, lanterns are hung up everywhere. Lanterns were usually made of bamboo and paper in the old days. Now they are made of many kinds of materials, such as steel, silk, cloth, plastic and so on. They are made all over China. Lanterns are made in the shape of different animals, vegetables, fruits and many other things.

◎观察思考:

◎用法总结: 当动词带双宾语(一个宾语是指人,一个是指物)变被动语态时,先将谓语动词改为被动形式。此外,如果将其中指人的宾语提前作被动句的主语时,另一个宾语按顺序照抄下来;如是将指物的宾语提前作被动句的主语,在被动句中则应在指人宾语前加“to”或“for” 。
