When we see winter jasmine blooming, we know that spring is coming. In other cultures they have different ways of knowing when spring is coming. In North American culture they have something called Groundhog Day.

as...as意为“和……一样”，表示同级比较。
使用时要注意第一个as为副词，第二个as为连词。
其基本结构为：as+ adj./ adv. +as。

其否定式为not as/so +adj./ adv. +as。
This dictionary is not as/so useful as you think.

若有修饰成分，如twice, three times, half, a quarter等，
则须置于第一个as之前。

2. We probably won’t see any flowers until May or June!我们可能直到5月或6月才会看到花儿！
not...until “直到……才......”表示直到某一时间，某一行为才
发生。主句中的谓语可以是延续性的也可以是非延续性动词。
知识点回顾：
until “直到”，表示某一种行为一直持续到某一时间。谓语动词必须是可延续性的。
I studied English until 9 o’clock last night.
我咋晚学英语一直学到9点钟。
(表示9点前一直在学)
I did not study English until 9 o’clock last night.
我昨晚直到9点钟才学英语。
(表示9点才开始学)
3. We had to wear our jackets and boots，but it was fun.我们必须穿着夹克衫和靴子，但那和很有趣。
have to “必须，不得不”， 有人称、数和时态的变化，其否定式和疑问式一般要借用助动词do的适当形式构成。
