cost 及物动词，意为“花费 ……”，主语不能是人，必须是物或某 种活动，
常用结构：
物+cost+(sb.)+some money某物花了（某人）多少钱。
The new bike cost him over 1000 yuan.
这两新自行车花了他1000多元钱。
【辨析】cost， take, spend, 与pay
四者都表示“花费”，但结构不同：
① Sth. costs sb. some money .某物花费某人多少钱。
The dictionary cost me fifty yuan.这本词典花了我50元。
② It takes sb. some time to do sth. 做某事花了某人多少时间。
It took us half an hour to go to the station. 去车站花了我们半个小时。
③ Sb. spends some money / time ＋on sth. / (in) doing sth.
某人花费一段时间 / 金钱做某事。
The boy spent 20 yuan on the book. =The boy spent 20 yuan (in) buying this book.
这个男孩花了20元钱卖了这本书。
④Sb. pays some money for sth.某人买某物付了多少钱
I have to pay 500 yuan for this room each month.

need to do sth 意为“需要做某事”，人作主语。
need doing 意为“需要被做”，物作主语，表示被动意义。
