设计说明 首先通过一组残疾人的图片导入新课,然后学习一些有关弱势群体的人的单词。通过展示教材Part A的图片,进一步巩固所学单词和短语,并利用所学知识来谈论如何帮助这些需要帮助的人。通过听录音,熟悉Part B的对话内容。再根据对话内容进行结对练习,进而拓展对话内容,让学生自编对话。最后学习Comic strip的对话,利用听、读、表演等训练形式,帮助学生理解此部分内容。通过讲解本课节的知识点,帮助学生解决疑难问题,然后用一些练习来巩固所学知识。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握词汇:train, the Olympic Games, support, meaningful, blind, deaf, disabled, elderly, homeless 2.能力目标 (1)了解并掌握一些描述弱势群体的词汇; (2)学会使用适当的词句谈论如何帮助弱势群体。 3.情感目标 树立同情弱者、乐于助人的意识。 重点难点 1.重点:本课节单词和短语。 2.难点:学会使用适当的词句谈论如何帮助弱势群体。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片;Comic strip的录音; Part B的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 New words Show some pictures and teach some new words. train v. 训练;培训 We should train more dogs to help blind people. the Olympic Games (= the Olympics) We should support our national athletes at the Olympic Games. meaningful adj. 有意义的 Volunteers usually do meaningful things. blind adj. 瞎的 We should help blind people cross the road. deaf adj. 聋的 Deaf people can talk with hand language. disabled adj. 残疾的 It is difficult for disabled people to go upstairs. elderly adj. 年老的 The elderly should be taken good care of. homeless adj. 无家可归的 Homeless people have nowhere to live. Step 2 Free talk Work in pairs and have a free talk. Have you ever been a volunteer Have you ever helped people who need help How did you help them Then choose some pairs to present their dialogues. Step 3 Part A 1. The Class 1, Grade 8 students have found some pictures of people who need help. Write the correct words under them. Then put a tick(√) in the boxes if you have ever helped these people. 2. Check the answers. Answers: 1 disabled 2 poor 3 blind 4 elderly 5 homeless 6 deaf Step 4 Part B 1. Listen to the dialogue and answer the following questions. (1) What does the government do for homeless people (2) What does the government do for disabled people (3) What do the businesses do for disabled people Answers: (1) Usually the government provides special places for them to stay. (2) There are some special designs in public places for them. (3) Many big businesses spend a lot of money helping people in need every year. 2. Read and practice the dialogue in pairs. 3. Work in pairs and discuss the people in Part A. Use the conversation below as a model. Sample conversation: A: What are blind (deaf...) people B: Blind (deaf...) people can’t ... A: How can we help them B: We can help them... A: Are there any other ways to help them B: Yes. We can... 4. Tips on how to treat the people in need: Treat them as normal (正常的) people. Tell stories to the blind children. Help the elderly people cross the road. Donate our pocket money to them. We can train dogs as guides of the blind people. When we have time, we can be volunteers to do meaningful things for them. Step 5 Comic strip 1. Listen and answer the questions. (1)What is Hobo doing (2)Will Eddie support him (3)How does Hobo want Eddie to help Answers: (1)He is training to be a volunteer for the Olympic Games. (2)Yes, he will. (3)He needs some more food to eat at work. 2. Work in pairs and act out the dialogue. Step 6 language points 1.
