(1) Do you like travelling (2) Where have you been (3) What places of interest did you visit there Step 2 Presentation 1. Show some pictures of places of interest around the world and teach some new words at the same time. (1) the Great Wall in Beijing the capital of China It is the longest wall in the world. (2) the Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco, the USA It’s a symbol of San Francisco. It connects San Francisco with Marin County. (3) the Leaning(倾斜的)Tower of Pisa Pisa, Italy It isn’t straight up. It may fall down some day. (4) the Sydney Opera House Sydney, Australia It looks like sailboat. (5) Tower Bridge London, the UK It is over the River Thames. It has twin towers. (6) the Little Mermaid It’s in Copenhagen(哥本哈根). the capital of Denmark The girl has a fish’s tail instead of legs. 2. Read and guess. Give some sentences to describe the famous attractions and ask students to guess the names of the attractions. (1) It is the longest wall in the world. Answer: the Great Wall (2) It’s a symbol of San Francisco. It connects San Francisco with Marin County. Answer: the Golden Gate Bridge (3) It is leaning. It may fall down some day. Who has the best memory Give the students some time to write the correct names under the pictures. Then check the answers. 2. 4. Work in pairs.
