设计说明 首先通过一组图片导入新课并呈现本课时的生词,进而完成A1、A2部分的听力练习,同时也了解同学们最喜欢的地方以及分享去参观这些地方的最佳时节。根据A1和A2 部分来完成A3 部分的内容。Speak up 以听力训练的形式呈现,进而简单谈论自己和朋友的旅行计划,再对知识点进行详细讲解。Study skills通过一组学生熟悉的图片让学生了解“重点”和“细节”的区别,继而让学生根据所学的知识把给出的信息组织成一篇含“重点”和“细节”的文章,然后完成课本上的练习。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握词汇:except, mountain, business, direct, point, Chinese gardens, places of natural beauty, seaside cities, all year round, on cold and snowy days, at that time of year, the May Day holiday, on business, take a direct flight, main points 2.能力目标 (1)能够听懂有关旅游地点和旅游季节的语篇;提取、记录有关信息并完成旅游建议;学会谈论自己的旅游计划; (2)能从文章中迅速找出五个要点,学会使用五个要点描述一次经历或一件事情。 3.情感目标 了解景点以及参观这些景点的最佳时间,让学生通过旅游来提高个人情操和素质。 重点难点 1.重点:能够听懂有关旅游地点和旅游季节的语篇;提取、记录有关信息并完成旅游建议。 2.难点:学会谈论自己的旅游计划。能从文章中迅速找出五个要点,学会使用五个要点描述一次经历或一件事情。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关录音、图片。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Revision A. Show the passage in Reading and Ask: Can you find facts and opinions in this article How can we organize our article with facts and opinions What is the topic of the article Answer: A trip to Hong Kong. This is the topic. 2. Analyze what the topic is: A topic is a general subject. It can often be expressed in a single word or a phrase. 3. Ask students to retell the passage in Reading and state clearly “when, where, who, what and how”. 4. Analyze what main points are. Use A trip to Hong Kong as a model. The main point, also called the main idea, is the most important thought about a topic. It helps to organize the opinions and tells the reader what the text is about. 5. Analyze what details are. Use A trip to Hong Kong as a model. Details, or supporting details, are specific facts, reasons, examples or other kinds of information to support the main points. 6. Show some passages that we have learned as a model to guide the students how to find the topic. Rule 1: Look carefully at the title. Often the topic is one of the words in the title. Rule 2: Look for clue words or phrases that are used repeatedly. Often that word or phrase is the general topic of the article. 7. (1)Rule 1: Look for the topic sentence for the main point in the first sentence, within the paragraph or at the end of the paragraph. Sadly, giant pandas face serious problems in the wild. For example, it is very difficult for pandas to have babies, and many baby pandas die when they are very young. Aslo, giant pandas live mainly on a special kind of bamboo. However, the bamboo forests are becoming smaller and smaller. As a result, pandas may not have a place to live or food to eat. Giant pandas are now in danger. We should take action right away. Here are some idas. ·help pandas have more babies ·build more panda reserves ·make laws to protect pandas Hours later, as I was trying to find my way out, I suddenly heard some noise above me. I sreamed,“Help! Please help! I’m here!”Then I heard shouts from excited people. They quickly moved away the bricks. At last, I saw the bright daylight. I was safe. (2)Rule 2: Read through the details for the information to make a conclusion. (3) Practice: Identifying Main Point. Give an article about Jane Austen and lead students to find the main points. Then check the answer. 8. How to find the details Look through the article in reading and give some tips on how to find the details. Tips: (1) Details are needed to help you to understand the main points better. (2) Details are needed to help to further the storyline or enrich the power of the main points. Step 6 Practice 1. Omit unnecessary details. Show an article “A trip to Yangzhou” on the screen and teach how to omit unnecessary details. 2. Play a game: Two types of examination questions. A. Practice: Identifying Topics, Main points & Details Show an article about friendship and ask students to identify topics, main points & details accoding to the knowledge they have learned in this class. 4. Summary When we write about an experience or event, we can organize our ideas using the following chart. when who Topic—Main points—where what—detail 1, detail 2, detail 3… how 5. Finish the exercise in the book and check the anwers. 6. Work in pairs to talk about their trip. Then show the simple sample speech. Sample speech: On 5 March, the Class 1,Grade 8 students had a visit to South Hill. They enjoyed the natural beauty there.Some of them flew kites, while some of them went fishing by the lake. Everybody felt very excited. 7. Teach the students how to add some more details. Show the sample speech again.
