设计说明 首先通过谈论是否喜欢阅读,喜欢阅读哪类书及最喜欢的书导入新课。通过呈现不同类型的书的图片学习生词,并利用图片,拓展更多书的更多类型。然后过渡到Welcome to the unit课节,先处理完Part A,并根据所学的词汇来谈论自己最喜爱的书籍类型并给出原因,继而编成对话。最后学习Comic strip对话,通过听、读、表演等环节帮助学生理解该内容,最后用名言告知学生读书的重要性。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握词汇:read, cooking, Germany, knowledge, spare, French, writer, ugly, touch 2.能力目标 (1) 了解书的类别的英文表达; (2) 运用英语谈论喜欢的书及其原因。 3.情感目标 激发学生对阅读的兴趣。 重点难点 1.重点:了解书的类别的英文表达。 2.难点:运用英语谈论喜欢的书及其原因。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Discuss some questions: Do you like reading What type of book do you like What is your favourite book Step 2 Presentation 1. Show some pictures to learn new words about types of books. read n. 读物 cooking n. novel n. 小说 烹饪,烹调 Germany n. 德国 knowledge n. 知识 French adj. 法国(人)的 writer n. 作者,作家 The Hunchback of Notre Dame《巴黎圣母院》 / h nt b k/ / n tr de m/ It is written by a French writer Victor Hugo. The story of the ugly man Quasimodo really touched her. adj. 丑陋的 / kwɑ zi( ) m d / touch vt. 感动,触动 2. Show the new words together and ask students to read and remember them. 3. Show some pictures and ask students to learn more about different types of books. novel, culture, play, fantasy, education, comic, history, science, music, travel, health, cooking 4. Show more pictures about different types of books and ask students to tell the types of books as quickly as possible. Step 3 Work on Part A 1. Mr Wu is showing the Class 1,Grade 8 students some books. Write the type of book under each picture. Then put a tick (√) in the box if you have read this type of book before. Ask students to complete Part A on Page 49 and check the answers on the screen. Answers: 1. science 2. cooking 3. travel 4. health 5. novel 6. culture 2. Pairs work. Practice the dialogue below according to the types of books they have learned. Let’s enjoy reading! B: … Step 4 Work on Part B 1. Listen to Part B and answer the following questions. Because they improve his knowledge of the past. (2) He is reading a book about Germany in World WarⅡ. (3) She likes reading novels and plays. (4) The Hunchback of Notre Dame by the French writer Victor Hugo. Because the story of the ugly man Quasimodo really touched her. 2. Read Part B by yourselves and pay attention to the part that are underlined. (the part underlined: am interested in; I think they’re boring.; The Hunchback of Notre Dame; the story of; Me too.) 3. Ask and answer. It’s dangerous. 不要触摸这棵植物,它是危险的。 Step 6 Comic strip 1. Listen and answer. (2) He thought that Eddie liked reading books.  (3) No, he does not. 2. Read and fill in the blanks. Eddie asks Hobo ________ ________ _______ with the books. Hobo has not ________ _______. Eddie asks Hobo to give the books to him. Eddie feels ________ because he did not know that Eddie _______ books. In fact, Eddie wants to use the books to _______ the box on the fridge. Answers: what to do, decided yet, surprised, liked, reach 3. Watch and act. Get the class to watch the video and act out the conversation. 4. Language points Have you decided what to do with these books, Hobo 霍波,你已经决定怎么处理这些书了吗? 句中“疑问词what +动词不定式”结构作宾语。该结构中的疑问词还可以用 when, how, which等。 I did not know how to solve the problem. 我不知道如何解决这个问题。 Step 7 Production 1. Ask: If you want to read more books, where can you go Tell students that they can go to bookshops, libraries or search on the Internet to find more good books. 2.
