Language points
1.Hello，Rick speaking.你好，我是瑞克。
本句相当于Hello，this is Rick(speaking)．
在打电话时，一般用this表示“我”，用that表示“你”。

常用的打电话用语有：

May/Could I speak to…？请……接电话好吗？
Is that…(speaking)？你是……吗？

2.How’s it going？最近怎么样？　
此句是询问对方近况或事情发展情况的习惯用语，相当于汉语中的“最近怎么样？” 后面可跟介词短语with sb./sth.。
How's it going with Jim's study？吉姆的学习情况怎么样？
【拓展】
“How's it going？”可与“How is everything？”互换。
类似的寒暄用语还有：
How are you？/How are you getting on？近来怎样？
3.Not bad, thanks.不错，谢谢。
Not bad 是口语中常用的表达，也可用Not so bad.或Not too bad.等，常用来回答询问对方处境或事情进展的问句，意思是“不错，还行”。
How are you today 你今天怎么样？
Not bad.还不错。
4. Sounds like you’re having a good time.　听起来好像你玩得正开心。
(1)这是一个省略句，相当于“It sounds like...”。sound like “听起来像” ，后
接名词、代词或句子。
It sounds like a good idea.这听起来是个好主意。
Sounds like he is all right now. 听上去好像他现在已经好了。
(2)have a good time意为“玩得高兴；过得愉快”，同义短语有：have fun、
have a great time、 enjoy oneself 等。
We are having a good time now . ＝We are having fun now.
＝ We are enjoying ourselves.我们玩得正高兴。
5. Can I take a message for him？要我给他捎个口信吗？　
当接电话的人发现对方要找的人不在时，常用此句来作答。message为
可数名词，意为“消息，信息”，常用短语：
take a message for sb. 为某人捎口信
give sb. a message 给某人捎口信
leave sb. a message 给某人留口信
Sorry, he is out. Can I take a message for him？
抱歉，他出去了。需要我帮他捎个口信吗？
6. Could you just tell him to call me back？你能叫他给我回个电话吗？　
(1)该句的句式是：Could you...？表示委婉地提出请求，意为“你能……吗？”
肯定回答常为“Sure./Certainly./Of course./No problem.”等，否定回答常为：
“Sorry, but…”。
--Could you help me study English？你能帮助我学英语吗？
--No problem.没有问题。
（2）tell sb. (not) to do sth. 意为“告诉某人 (不要) 做某事”。
Tell them not to swim in the river.告诉他们不要在河里游泳。
