(1) there be的基本结构为：There be + 名词 + 地点状语”，表示某地存在某物或某人。其中be要随其后主语的单复数的不同而选用相应的形式。

(2) There be结构的就近原则：
如果有多个名词并列出现在there be后面，那么be动词只与离它最近的名词保持人称和数的一致。离be最近的名词是单数的或者不可数，be动词使用is，离be最近的名词是复数的，be动词使用are。

【辨析】across 与 cross
①across介词，强调从一定范围的一边到另一边，且在物体表面上或沿着个方向而进行的动作。across 常和表示“走”一类的动词连用，如：walk，run，fly，jump。
Go across the bridge，and you’ll find the park. 越过这座桥，你就会找到公园。
② cross 动词，表示“穿过，越过”。
Be careful when you cross the street. 过街道时你要小心。

此句常用于饭店、旅店、邮局、办事处、商店等场所，作为对顾客的招呼语，相当于“Can I help you？/ May I help you？/ What can I do for you？”它的具体含义要视场合而定。

town前加冠词的情况：

far from 意为“离……远”，相当于far away from，通常不与具体数字连用。若出现具体的数字，常用away from。其反义词组为 close to，意为“离……很近”。
