【辨析】reach、arrive与get
Language points
reach 后面可以直接跟地点名词和地点副词。
arrive 是不及物动词，其后接地点名词时，要先加介词in(＋大地方)或at(＋小地方)；如果后面跟的是地点副词，则无须跟介词in或at。
get 是不及物动词，其后跟地点名词时要先加介词to；如果跟的是地点副词，则不需要加介词。

5. “G'day” is short for “Good day” and “mate” is another way of saying “friend.”

be short for意为“是……的简称/缩写”，常在句中作谓语。该短语前面的主语是一种缩写形式，for后面则是该缩写的全写形式。
