1. ARG takes care of pets without a home. 　ARG照顾无家可归的宠物。
care名词，意为“照料，保护，小心”， care作名词时常与动词take连用, 构成短语: take care 意为“小心”；take care of 意为“照顾, 保管”，相当于look after。
He is old enough to take care of himself.
= He is old enough to look after himself.
他年龄足够大，能照顾自己了。
Language Points
【拓展】care的不同用法
(1) care作动词, 意为“关心；在意”。
I don’t care what will happen in the future.
我不在意将来会发生什么。
(2) care的形容词形式为careful，意为“小心的，
仔细的”，副词形式为carefully，意为“仔细地，
小心地”。
She is a careful girl. 她是一个细心的女孩。
Jenny finished the exam carefully. 詹妮认真完成考试。
Sometimes，people move away and they can't take their pets with them.
有时，人们搬走了，但不能带他们的宠物一起。 　
(1) move away 离开，搬走。
They are going to move away next Friday.
他们下周五就要搬走了。
(2) take sth. with sb. 意为“某人随身携带某物”。其中take是动词，意为
“携带”；with是介词，表示伴随状态。
You had better take an umbrella with you.
你最好带上一把雨伞。
3. His family left him alone in a field. 他的家人把他肚子留在了田野里。
alone 在此句中作副词，相当于 by oneself 独自一人， 通常放在动
词后面 。leave. . . alone 不管；撇下……（一 个人）。
I like to read alone when I am free.
当我空闲时，我喜欢一个人看书。
【拓展】alone 可用作形容词，与 be 动词连用，在句中作表语。
I hate being alone in the hotel.
我讨厌一个人待在酒店。
【辨析】alone 与 lonely
alone 形 容 词 单独的,独自的,通常只是表示客观上的一个人,而不表示寂寞或孤独等感彩,并且在句中只用作表语 I was alone, but I did not feel lonely.我虽然一个人,但我不感到孤独。
lonely 形 容 词 孤独的;寂寞的,荒凉的,偏僻的,带有较强感彩,可用作表语或定语 She often feels lonely.
她时常感到寂寞。
4. I'm going to volunteer four times a week.
我打算一周做四次志愿服务。
four times a week 意思是“一个星期四次”，表示频率，常见的表示
频率的词组 还有 once a week、twice a month等，提问常用 how
often (多久一次)。
— How often do you go to the Old People's Home to help the old？
你多长时间去一次敬老院去帮助那儿的老年人呢？
—Twice a month. 一个月两次。
— Once a week. 一周一次。
