本节课通过说唱来复习所学习的有关家务的短语,增加趣味性。在阅读过程中,通过读前、读中和读后的各种教学活动,充分练习本节课重点;并且通过各个环节的阅读要求,培养学生的独立思考能力,增强求知欲。通过阅读两封信件,让学生学会体谅父母,帮助父母做适当的家务劳动,增强责任感,培养自己的独立意识。
教学目标
1. 知识目标
(1)掌握单词和短语:stress,waste,provide,anyway,depend,develop,independence,fairness,since,neighbor,ill,drop,independent;in order to,depend on,take care of。
(2)阅读两封信件:掌握信件中的重点短语、句型。
2. 能力目标
(1)能根据所掌握词汇,快速捕获文章信息。
(2)通过阅读教学使学生掌握一些重点短语、句型,同时掌握略读的阅读方法。
3. 情感目标
学会体谅父母,帮助父母做适当的家务劳动,增强责任感,培养自己的独立意识。

T:Now let’s read two letters from parents in the Sunday Mail magazine. First let’s learn how to read it. Please look at Skimming.
1. 了解阅读策略:
略读意味着不用读每一个单词,而是快速浏览文章,领会文章大意。一般而言,通过标题可以知道文章的主题。对文章的首段和末段要多加注意,以便发现作者的观点。
(In the Skimming,make the students understand two phrases:“look quickly”“the first sentence”.)
2. Skim the letters. And choose “agrees” or “disagrees”.

3. Skim the letters again. Find and underline Ms. Miller’s and Mr. Smith’s points about kids helping with housework. And then check the answers.

Mr. Smith’s points:It is important for children to learn how to do chores and help their parents with housework. The earlier kids learn to be independent,the better it is for their future.

5. Read Letter 1 and fill in the blanks.

6. Read Letter 2 and fill in the blanks.

Step 4 Cooperative inquiry
Discuss the following language points in groups and fill in the blanks.
1. waste 用作名词,意为“浪费”,常用于固定结构a waste of time,意为“浪费时间”。waste 还可作动词,意为“浪费”,waste time意为“浪费时间”。

6. mind + doing sth. 意为“介意做某事”。
7. It’s + adj. + for sb. to do sth. 中代词it仅为形式上的主语,真正的主语是to do sth.。
It’s necessary for you to explain(explain)things clearly.

8. have no idea 意为“不知道,不了解”,相当于don’t know。
9. take care of 意为“照顾,照料”,take good care of意为“好好照顾”,后面可接名词或代词作宾语。take care of的同义短语有look after和care for。
10.“the +比较级...,the +比较级...”是英语中一个常用的句型结构,表示“越……,越……”。

6. independent be后应跟形容词作表语,independent形容词,意为“独立的”。
7. harder,greater “the +比较级...,the +比较级...”是英语中一个常用的句型结构,表示“越……,就越……”。句意:我学习越刻苦,我取得的进步就越大。
Ⅲ. 1. B look at“看”;take care of“照顾”;take care“当 心;小心”;look for“寻找”。由句意“当我去度假时请你照顾一下我的猫好吗?”可知B项符合题意。
2. C doing housework是动名词短语,在句中作主语。
3. D so“所以”,后接句子;so that“以便”,后接句子;in order“按顺序”;in order to“为了”,后接动词原形。由句意“他们应该把时间花在学业上,为了取得好的成绩并考入一所好的大学”及空格后的动词原形get可知应选D。
4. B 此处动名词短语doing chores作宾语从句的主语,谓语动词应用第三人称单数形式。
