注意：in the end意为“最后；终于”，相当于at last，它的后面不能接of。

shorts意为“短裤”是复数形式。a pair of shorts意为“一条短裤”。

[注意]英语中一些表示成双成对物品的名词通常以复数形式出现，常见的有sunglasses(太阳镜), trousers(裤子), jeans (牛仔裤), gloves (手套)和scissors (剪刀)等。这些名词可以单独作主语，谓语动词用复数形式。在表示“一（二、三……）副/条”时，用a/two/three pair(s) of，作主语时谓语动词的单复数形式取决于pair的形式。

3. Is 200 dollars enough 200美元够吗？
表示金钱、时间、重量或路程的名词作主语时，我们通常把它看成一个整体概念，即使它形式上是复数的，谓语动词也应该用单数形式。

5. Your bag mustn’t weigh too much. You’d better ask the travel company about the total weight for all your bags. 你的包不能太重。你最好问问旅行社你所有行李的总重量。
(1) weigh动词，意为“重量有……；重……；称……的重量”。
Linda is 1.67 m tall and weighs 46 kilos. 琳达身高1.67米，体重46公斤。
Could you please weigh the fish for me 请你给我称一下鱼好吗？
weigh的名词形式是weight，意为“重量”。lose weight意为“减肥”。
　　What’s the weight of the elephant 这头大象的重量是多少？
(2) had better意为“最好”，后接动词原形。had better do sth.意为“最好做某事”；had better not do sth.意为“最好不要做某事”。
　You’d better ask the police over there for help.
