并列复合句
一、什么是简单句？
　　简单句就是只含有一个主谓结构，并且句子各成分都只由单词或短语构成的独立句子或分句。在简单句中主语和谓语是句子的主干，是句子的核心。
　　My mother prepares breakfast for me every morning. 每天早上我母亲给我准备早饭。
二、什么是复合句？
　　复合句中含有两个或两个以上的简单句，它们或是并列关系，或是从属关系。
　　The boys are sweeping the floor and the girls are cleaning the windows.（并列关系）
　　男孩子们在清扫地板，女孩子们在清理窗户。
　　David has been very lucky because his hobby has brought him pleasure and success.（从属关系）

三、什么是并列复合句？
　　并列复合句是指由并列连词and, but, or等把两个或两个以上的简单句连在一起而构成的句子。
１.并列复合句的构成
　　简单句+并列连词+简单句
２.常见连词和前后简单句之间的关系
(1) and表示并列关系，通常不用翻译
　　I like bananas and my sister likes apples. 我喜欢香蕉，我姐姐喜欢苹果。
(2) or表示选择关系，意为“或者”
　　You can go swimming with us, or you can stay at home. 你可以和我们一起去游泳，或者待在家里。
(3) buy表示转折关系，意为“但是”
　　My grandfather is over seventy years old, but he knows a lot about 5G.
我爷爷70多岁了，但他对５G了解很多。
四、使用并列复合句要注意的几种情况
１.当前后句的关系非常紧密时，并列复合句有时可以不用连词，而用分号隔开。
　　My mother is a teacher; my father is a doctor.
我母亲是一位教师，我父亲是一位医生。
２.当并列复合句后面的简单句如果与前面的简单句有相同的部分，则相同的部分可以省略。
　　I looked for my pen everywhere but ( I ) didn’t find it.
我到处找我的铅笔，但没有找到。

Summer camps for children are very popular in many countries. In Canada and the US, some of the summer camps are in the countryside or on lakes.
