arrive, get与reach三者都有“到达”之意。
①arrive是不及物动词，其后必须加介词才能跟宾语。arrive in后接表示 洲、国家、城市等大地方的名词。而arrive at后接表示车站、学校、邮局等较小地方的名词。

②get也是个不及物动词，其后加介词to,再接地点名词，get to +地点表示“到达某地”。当后面接副词here/there/home等时，省略to。Whattime does the plane get to New York 这架飞机几点到达纽约？③reach是及物动词，其后可直接接名词或代词作宾语。Theyreach school at 7 o’clock in the morning.他们早上7点到校。Remember to write to me when you get to/arrive in/reach England.当你到达英格兰时记得给我写信。3. The journey hastakenseveral months.旅途花了几个月的时间。It takes sb. some time to do sth.意为“某人花（多少）时间做某事”，其中it是形式主语，动词不定式to do sth.是真正的主语；常与句型sb. spends…doingsth.互换。Ittook ustwo minutesto send this email.= We spenttwo minutessending this email.我们花了两分钟发这个电子邮件。③discover表示“偶然或经过努力发现客观存在的事物、真理或错误” 。Who discovered America in 1492 谁在1492年发现了美洲大陆？The scientists are trying hard to discover life on other planets.科学家正在努力在其他行星上发现生命。4. invent, find与discover的区别：
①invent意为“发明”，指经过认识和实践创造出前所未有的事物。
Edison invented many things.爱迪生发明了很多东西。
②find意为“发现，找到”，指对某种事物的寻求，也指找到（丢失的事物）。
