设计说明
本课时的重点内容是课文2b。课文主要介绍了中国和英国在庆祝生日时所吃的食物及其寓意,让同学们在轻松的学习氛围中了解不同国家的饮食差异,增强学生的跨文化意识。阅读环节主要以学生自学为主,小组合作学习与探究学习相结合,调动学生阅读的积极性,提高他们的阅读水平。另一个内容是学会为餐馆写广告,让学生灵活运用所学知识,做到学以致用,提高英语的运用能力和写作水平。
教学目标
1. 知识目标:
(1)掌握单词和短语:world,answer,different,cake,candle,age,blow,if,will,candy,lucky,popular,idea;around the world,make a wish,blow out,the UK,get popular,cut up,bring good luck to...。
(2)读懂课文“Birthday Food Around the World”和 “The Ice-cream and Pancake House”。

Step 2 Reading
1. Read the article quickly and circle the new words and phrases.
2. Read it again and complete the chart.

(2)the number of与a number of
“the number of+可数名词复数”意为“……的数量”,作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。
“a number of+可数名词复数”意为“许多……”,作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。

(3)if引导条件状语从句
在含有if引导的条件状语从句的主从复合句中,主句用一般将来时(will do),if从句常用一般现在时表示将来。

If it doesn’t rain (not rain) next weekend,they will go (go) on a school trip.
(4)cut up意为“切碎”,为“动词+副词”型短语,代词it/them作宾语时,必须放在中间。

(5)different与differently
形容词different后加-ly构成副词differently。different用在连系动词后作表语或用在名词前作定语;differently通常用在实义动词后作状语。

(6)make...come true意为“使……成为现实”,其中make为使役动词,其后接动词原形作宾补,意为“使/让……做……”。
