Module 5 Cartoons
Unit 2 Tintin has been popular for over eighty years.
设计说明 首先由学生们感兴趣的动画人物引入到课文主题——介绍动画人物。在学习本单元新单词后,先通过速读让学生们对课文结构和内容大体了解,之后通过精读和对笔记的补充完善来了解文章细节,再通过练习掌握重要单词的运用,之后通过学生对文章中一般现在时、一般过去时和现在完成时的运用体会总结三种时态的不同用法。最后让学生通过小组活动获得信息并根据本单元对动画人物的介绍写一篇关于自己喜欢的动画片的文章。 教学目标 通过本单元的学习,让学生达成以下目标 1.知识目标: 掌握词汇:orange-and-white, ugly, schoolbag, lead, clever, as, mess, heaven, expect, artist, invent ,copy, black-and-white, own, private, create, satisfy, win the heart of 2.能力目标: (1)能理解并总结关于卡通故事的文章 (2)能获取文章中的细节信息 (3)读懂卡通故事的相关短文 3.情感目标: 通过动画片中人物角色的特点形成积极健康的价值观;更多地了解世界灿烂的文化 重点难点 重点:读懂文章,获取文章细节信息;新学生词和短语的运用;陈述故事时不同时态的运用 难点:陈述故事时一般现在时、一般过去时和现在完成时三种时态的运用 教学准备 PPT课件,相关图片 授课时数 2课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up 1.Show some pictures of cartoon characters. Ask students who they are. 2.Ask students the following questions: Step 2 Learning about new words 1.Let students know the meanings of the following new words with the help of pictures and so on. orange-and-white, ugly, schoolbag, lead, clever, as, mess, heaven, expect, artist, invent ,copy, black-and-white, own, private, create, satisfy, win the heart of 2.Lead students to read the new words three times or more. 3.Let students circle the new words in the passage of Activity 2 and think about their use. Step 3 Fast reading Ask students to read the passage quickly and answer the following questions. How many cartoon heroes are there in the passage Who are they Answers: 1)Five. 2)Nemo, Shrek, the Monkey King, Tintin and Snoopy. Step 4 Careful reading Let students read Para.1 and complete the following notes. Check students’ answers and ask them to read the notes aloud. 3. Let students read Para. 2 and complete the following notes. 4. Check students’ answers and ask them to read the notes aloud. 5. Ask students more questions about the Monkey King. For example: Do you know a book about the Monkey King Have you read it What do you think of the Monkey King 6. Let students read Para. 3 and complete the following notes. 7. Check students’ answers and ask them to read the notes aloud. 8. Let students read Para. 4 and complete the following notes. 9. Check students’ answers and ask them to read the notes aloud. 10. Ask students to read the passage again and then choose a sentence that best summarises it from the sentences at the end of the passage. Answer: a) Step 5 After-reading Ask students to say the tenses in each paragraph. Ask students to underline the past tense and the present perfect tense in different colors. Ask students to try saying why some sentences use the past tense and why some sentences use the present perfect tense and why some sentences use the present tense. Discuss with students and make a summary. Step 6 Practice Ask students to complete Activity 4 and check their answers. The pictures of these popular cartoon heroes are everywhere… 这些颇受欢迎的卡通故事的主人公随处可见…… everywhere / somewhere / anywhere都与“某地”有关,区别如下: (1) everywhere意为“在各个地方;处处”,相当于here and there,一般用于肯定句中。 (2) somewhere意为“在/到某处”,一般用于肯定句中。但在预料会得到肯定回答的疑问句中仍用somewhere。 (3) anywhere表示“在/到某处”时,一般用在否定句或疑问句中; 当表示“任何地方”时,则可以用在肯定句中。 3. …ever since the artist Hergé invented him in 1929. ……自从卡通画家埃尔热于1929年创作出丁丁这个形象。 invent 用作及物动词,意为“发明,创造”,发明本来没有的、被创造出来的东西。 Edison invented the light bulb. 爱迪生发明了电灯。 4. Fans have bought about 200 million copies of Tintin’s stories in more than fifty languages. 丁丁的粉丝们己经累计购买了大约2亿册50多种不同语言的丁丁故事书。 copy表示“一册,一份”。 Have you got a copy of yesterday’s newspaper 你有昨天的报纸吗? We are offering a free gift with each copy you buy. 你每买一册就可以得到一份我们给的免费的礼物。 5. Snoopy lives in his own private world and finds real life hard to understand. 史努比生活在自己的私人世界里,认为现实生活很难理解。 这里的句法结构是:“find + 宾语 + 宾语补足语”, real life 是宾语,hard to understand是宾语补足语。另外,“……很难/容易回答、相处、解决、理解”等都可以用这一结构表达,即…is hard/difficult/easy to answer/get along with/solve/ understand等。 The question is difficult to answer.这个问题很难回答。 He is easy to get along with.他很容易相处。 The problem is difficult to solve.这个问题很难解决。 The story is easy to understand. 这个故事很容易懂。 Step 8 Writing Let students write down the names of their favourite cartoons. Ask students to work in groups to ask and answer the following questions. Teach students how to write a passage: My favourite cartoon. My favourite cartoon is... It is about... The hero of the cartoon is...He/She... I like the cartoon because it is ... Ask students to write a passage using their answers. Ask some students to show and read their passages. Step 9 Homework 1. Retell the passage:Cartoon heroes. 2.Review the words and expressions of Unit 2. 当堂达标 I.根据句意和首字母提示写单词 1. John is a s_____ boy and he often comes up with new ideas. 2.
