Simple past tense (一般过去时)
用 法
1、表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态。
He was here yesterday.
I got up at six thirty yesterday morning.
My father was at work yesterday afternoon.
Did you have a good time last summer
2、表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。
My father often went to work by bus last year.
When I was a child, I often listened to music.

We form the simple past tense
by adding –ed to regular(规则) verbs.
1 绝大多数动词 +ed walk--walked
2 以e结尾的动词 +d live--lived
3 以辅音字母+ y结尾的动词 变y为ied cry--cried
4 以一个元音字母+一个辅音字母结尾的短音节动词 双写末尾的 辅音字母+ed stop--stopped

1.句中有”介词+表示过去时间的数词或名词”,如in 1968,on March 1st,1980等.

2.句中有表示过去时间的副词yesterday,或由yesterday构成的短语.
He (go) to Shanghai with his friends yesterday.
3.句中有”时间段+ago”构成的短语, 如five days ago, two minutes ago等.

4.句中有”last+表示时间的名词”构成的短语, 如last year, last month等.
We (visit) the Great Wall last Sunday.
5.句中有其他表示过去的词语或者短语,如once(从前),at that time, just now等.

6. 问句用过去时,答句也用一般过去时.
7. 两个或两个以上的动词用and来连接,如果前一个是过去时,那么
后面的动词也要用一般过去时.

2)否定句 主语 + didn’t +谓语动词原形 ……

3)一般疑问句 Did +主语+谓语动词原形……
Yes, 代词+did. / No, 代词+ didn’t.

巧记动词过去时态
动词一般过去时，表示过去发生的事；
be用was或用were, have, has变had；
谓语动词过去式，过去时间做标志；
一般动词加-ed，若是特殊得硬记。
否定句很简单，主语之后didn’t添；
疑问句也不难，did放在主语前；
如果谓语之前有did，谓语动词需还原；
动词若是was, were, 否定就把not添。
