Lesson 34: Modern Olympics
设计说明 首先以奥运会图片的形式进行直观教学，能很快导入课文，抓住学生的好奇心，激发学生的学习兴趣。引出本课时的话题Modern Olympics(现代奥运)，掌握词汇后，进行进一步的巩固练习。引入教材THINK ABOUT IT的学习。然后，通过图片展示，让学生了解北京奥运会；并通过听课文回答问题，掌握与奥运有关的信息；接着，读短文。利用Let’s Do It!中的练习题对文章内容进行巩固。本课节从多个角度、多种形式上对语言知识进行练习，从而达到教学目的，实现教学目标。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学，学生达成以下目标： 1. 知识目标 掌握单词：America, peace 接触单词：continent, torch, slogan, reflect, mascot, feature, fairly 短语和句型：stand for, The Olympic motto, “Faster, Higher, Stronger”, stays the same for every Olympics. 2. 能力目标 (1)掌握一些与介绍现代奥运会有关的词汇； (2)运用所学的知识用英语介绍现代奥运会。 3.情感目标 让学生通过本课的学习，了解世界各国举办奥运会的相关知识，拓展知识面，培养学生乐于接受异国文化的意识以及爱国情怀。 重点难点 1.重点：正确使用本课节的单词和短语。 2.难点：了解奥运会中哪些要素是变化的，哪些是不变的。 教学准备 PPT 课件；本课节用到的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1　New words In this lesson we are going to learn something about “Modern Olympics”.
