Lesson 36:Classroom Olympics
设计说明 首先老师通过图片引导学生举例说出一些运动项目的名称,并把说出的单词写在黑板上,教师解释并教读单词,学生对词汇掌握后,进行进一步的巩固练习。引出本课时的话题Classroom Olympics,引入教材THINK ABOUT IT的学习。然后,通过播放录音,掌握单词的发音。接着,读短文。让学生自由阅读课文并找出Jenny等人各自的比赛项目和结果,并回答问题。利用Let’s Do It!中的练习题对文章内容进行巩固。最后,利用第3题做笔头练习,由听、说、读的训练过渡到写的训练。本节课从多个角度、多种形式上对本课的语言知识进行练习,从而达到教学目的,实现教学目标。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词:rope, race , result, none , twentieth 接触单词:sit-up, push-up 短语和句型:have / hold a classroom Olympics, jump rope, long jump, one by one, win first place in; None of us could catch him! He came in twentieth. He did his best, but he kept falling off the pizzas! 2.能力目标 (1)掌握一些与班级运动会有关的词汇; (2)用目标语言介绍自己班级的运动会。 3.情感目标 注意日常运动技能锻炼; 激发兴趣, 展现自我, 培养比拼精神。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握副词比较级和最高级的用法。 2.难点:能用英语描述班级奥运会的情况。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的录音 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Thinking about it Would you like to hold a classroom Olympics What events would your classroom Olympics have Step 2 Lead-in       T: Look at the picture. They are holding classroom Olympics. Do you like a classroom Olympics Do you like sports What’s your favourite sport We know there are many events in our sports. What activities do your classroom Olympics have Ss: Race, jump rope, long jump... Step 3 New words 1. In this lesson we are going to learn some sentences about “Classroom Olympics”. Example: Lisa jumped farther than Jenny in the long jump. Danny was the fastest in the “Jump over the Dinosaur” event. Answers: 1. Kim jumped more than Danny in the jump rope event. 2. Kim jumped the farthest in the long jump event. 3. Sandra did more than Lisa in the sit ups. 4. Sandra jumped the most in the jump rope event. Step 7 Discussion Work in groups of four to design an event. What will you need?What will the rules be Talk about it with your group members. Example: Our event is called Ball Toss. We need a small box,some tapes and ten tennis balls. First,we tape the small box on the floor. Then we stand three metres away and try to throw ten tennis balls into the box. In one minute,the one who throws the most into the box is the winner. He came in twentieth.他是第二十名。 twentieth num.第二十。它是twenty的序数词。在英语中,20~90之间整十的序数词由对应的基数词变末尾的y为ie,再加 th构成。如:thirty→thirtieth第三十;fifty→fiftieth第五十;sixty→sixtieth第六十。 6.
