Lesson 42: North America
设计说明 首先老师通过游戏Guessing，引出本课的话题North America(北美)，引入教材THINK ABOUT IT的学习。然后，通过播放录音，并通过听对话掌握单词的发音；接着，读短文。利用Let’s Do It!中的练习题对文章内容进行巩固。最后，由听、说、读的训练过渡到写的训练。本节课从多个角度、多种形式上对本课的语言知识进行练习，从而达到教学目的，实现教学目标。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学，学生达成以下目标： 1.知识目标 掌握单词：square 接触单词：million, Rocky Mountains, Spanish, Mexican 短语和句型：square kilometre，The Great Lakes To the south of Canada is the United States. 2.能力目标 (1)了解北美洲主要国家并简单口头介绍； (2)进一步掌握比较级和最高级的用法。 3.情感目标 让学生简单了解北美主要国家间的差异，进而达到了解世界的目的。 重点难点 1. 重点：本课的重点词汇、短语和句型的掌握。 2. 难点：方位表达。 教学准备 PPT 课件；本课节用到的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1　Leading in Play the game—Guessing. Stimulate the students’ interest in learning this lesson. (1)It is the biggest continent. It has the highest point on the earth in the Himalayas. (Asia) (2)It is the second largest continent. Many elephants, giraffes, zebras and lions live there. (Africa) (3)It is the third largest continent. Canada, Mexico and the U.S. are the three major countries on this continent.
