Lesson 16: The Bear Escaped!
设计说明 首先通过与学生谈论愚人节的话题引入新课,给学生讲解一些关于愚人节的背景知识后,借助图片和情景学习本课的生词。然后,通过听录音让学生对所学对话内容有一个大体的了解;接着,通过阅读判断正误、阅读查找短语、阅读补全短文等活动达到对对话的理解;之后让学生分小组讨论愚人节可以开的玩笑并展示;然后听录音完成课本中的题目。最后讲解本课的重要知识点并通过当堂检测进行巩固练习。本节课从多个角度、多种形式上对本课的语言知识进行练习,从而达到教学目的,实现教学目标。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握单词:protect 接触单词:escape, fierce, fool 短语和句型:wait a minute, April Fools’ Day;There’s a fierce bear coming. You’re joking, aren’t you 2. 能力目标 能用英语谈论愚人节。 3. 情感目标 了解西方国家节日的文化。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握本课节中的重点单词、短语及句型。 2.难点:能用英语谈论愚人节。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up 1. Ask students the following question: What do you know about April Fools’ Day 2. Show some information about April Fools’ Day. Then ask students some questions about April Fools’ Day. About April Fools’ Day April Fools’ Day is on April 1 every year in the Western world. April 1 is not a national holiday, but is widely celebrated in many countries as a day when people play jokes on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc. In Italy, France, Belgium and Canada, children and adults traditionally stick paper fish on each other’s back as a trick and shout “April fish!” In the UK, an April fool joke is revealed(揭示) by shouting “April fool!” at the recipient(接受者), who becomes the “April fool”. Traditionally, in some countries such as New Zealand, the UK, Australia, and South Africa, the jokes only last until noon. A person playing a joke after midday is the “April fool” themselves. But in other countries, such as France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Canada, and the U.S., the jokes last all day. Questions: 1. When is April Fools’ Day 2. How long do the jokes last in the U.S. Step 2 Presentation 1. Teach students to learn about the new words protect, escape, fierce, fool with the help of pictures and sentences. Lions, tigers, bears and wolves are not gentle animals. They are very fierce. adj. 凶猛的;凶狠的 2. Let students read the new words aloud for some times in order to remember them. escape v. 逃脱;逃走 fierce adj. 凶猛的;凶狠的 protect v. 保护 fool n. 愚人 Step 3 Listening 1. Let students listen to the lesson and answer the question. Jenny and Brian play a joke on Danny. What is it Answer: They told Danny that the bear got out of the zoo. It came to the neighbourhood. 2. Let students listen to the lesson again and read after it. Step 4 Reading 1. Let students read the lesson and tell true(T) or false(F). (1) Danny is reading in the classroom. There’s a fierce bear coming. 有一只凶猛的熊要来了。 “There be+主语+动词-ing形式+其他.”意为“有……正在做某事”,动词-ing形式作定语,修饰主语。 There are many girls singing in the classroom. 许多女孩正在教室里唱歌。 【拓展】There be 结构中be的单复数遵循就近原则。 There are two chairs, one desk and three pictures in the classroom. There is one desk, two chairs and three pictures in the classroom. 两句的意思都是:教室里有一张桌子、两把椅子、三张图画。 2. Protect yourselves! 保护好自己! protect作及物动词,意为“保护,保卫”,后加名词或代词作宾语。其构成短语protect…from…表示“保护……不受……”。 We should protect the animals.我们应该保护动物。 We should protect the animals from being killed.我们应该保护动物免受杀害。 3. You’re joking, aren’t you 你们在开玩笑,不是吗? 这是个反意疑问句,它的基本结构是“陈述句+ 附加问句”,遵循的原则是“前肯后否,前否后肯”,也就是说前面的陈述句是肯定句,附加问句就用否定句;前面的陈述句是否定句,附加问句就用肯定句。 He has made money, hasn’t he 他挣过钱,是吗 He hasn’t made money, has he 他没挣过钱,是吗 【拓展】附加问句中的主语必须是代词,代替陈述句的主语,谓语动词在人称、数和时态上要和陈述句中的谓语动词保持一致。回答时,可用“Yes+ 肯定的简短答语”或者“No+ 否定的简短答语”。需要注意的是,翻译时中英两种语言的差异,当陈述句为否定句时,yes 翻译成“不”,而no则翻译成“是”。 —She doesn’t like swimming, does she 她不喜欢游泳,是吗 —Yes, she does.不,她喜欢。 /No, she doesn’t.是的,她不喜欢。 4. The number of the bears is getting bigger and bigger. 熊的数量正变得越来越多。 the number of…意为“……的数量”。后接名词复数,在句中作主语时,谓语动词要用单数形式。 The number of the girls is 18 in our class.我们班有18个女生。 The number of the cars is much bigger than before. 汽车的数量比原来多了很多。 【拓展】a number of意为“许多”,后接名词复数。在句中作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。number 前面还可以用large, small来修饰。 A number of cars are on the street.街上有很多汽车。 Step 8 Homework 1.
