What do you think has happened to him 你认为他发生什么事了? happen为不及物动词,它常指某事、事故、故事等“偶然发生”,主语往往为表示事物的名词或代词,不能用于被动语态。例如: Can you imagine what will happen in a hundred years 你能想象出100年后将会发生什么吗? 【拓展】sth. happen to sb.意为“某人发生了什么事”。例如: Can you tell me what happened to the old man two days ago 你能告诉我两天前那位老人发生了什么事吗? 2. How long did it take for the wound to get better 那个伤口花费了多长时间才好的? 句型It takes sb. some time to do sth.表示“某人做某事花了多长时间”。例如: It took me an hour to do my homework yesterday.昨天我做作业花了一个小时。 3. One is red, two are green, the others/the other two pens are blue. 我有五支钢笔。一支是红色的,两支是绿色的,其余两支是蓝的。 【辨析】other,the other,another与others other意为“其他的”,做形容词,只能作定语,不能单独使用。 the other意为“另一个”,用于指两者中的另一个。 another意为“另一个”,泛指许多中的任何一个。 others意为“另一些,别人”,在句中可做主语、宾语。 4. They’ll catch up in a few minutes.他们几分钟后就会赶上来的。 (1) catch up意为“赶上,追上”。catch up with sb.意为“赶上某人,追上某人”,相当于keep up with sb.例如: If you don’t hurry, you won’t catch/keep up with your classmates. 如果你不快点,你将赶不上你的同学。 (2) “in+一段时间”表示“一段时间之后”,指从现在开始之后的一段时间,常用于一般将来时中。对此提问常用How soon。例如: I’ll go to America in a week. 一周后我要去美国了。 5. Who’s missing 谁不见了? missing作形容词,意为“丢失的,不见的,失踪的”。miss是missing的动词原形,除表示“不见”,还可表示“想念;错过”。 【辨析】missing, lost和gone都可表示“不见了”,在句中作表语,但missing和lost还可做定语。例如: Unluckily, the police haven’t found the lost child. 不幸的是,警察还没有找到那个丢失的孩子。 6. I’ll call for help on my mobile.我要打电话求助。 call for意为“为……而呼喊;要;需要”。例如: I called for help. 我大声呼救。 【拓展】call for还可表示“去取;来取;去接;来接”。例如: I’ll call for you at seven. 七点我来接你。
