—般过去时(3)
在前面的学习内容中,我们所接触的动词过去式多为规则变化,其基本变化规则为“动词原形+ed”。但是在英语中不符合上述变化规则的动词有很多,它们的过去式构成方式独特,因此被称为不规则动词。这类动词需要靠同学们不断积累,加强记忆。

Mo Yan is a famous writer in China now. He is the first Chinese writer who got the Nobel Prize in Literature. Mo Yan is not his real name. His real name is Guan Moye. About his name, there was a funny story. When Mo Yan was young, he liked speaking and talking to himself. That brought some trouble to his family. One day his mother saw him talking to a tree. She was very surprised and thought he was crazy(疯狂的). She asked him if he could stop speaking like that. From then on, he took the name Mo Yan as his pen name. It means “no speaking”.

When Chen Zhenwei first played in The Nutcracker(《胡桃夹子》), he was only 13 years old. He played the role(角色) of a young boy at a Christmas party. On December 12, 2021, as a dancer with New York City Ballet, Chen played in the ballet again. He is a successful dancer. However, many people in China didn't know about him until they saw him on a popular show of Hunan TV in 2020.
Chen was born in 1992 in Huizhou, Guangdong Province. He went into Guangzhou Arts School and started to learn dancing at the age of 12. Although his family didn't want him to be a dancer, Chen never gave up his dream.
“I wrote a letter to my dad on Father's Day when I was 11 years old, telling him that I wanted to be a dancer,” Chen says. “He permitted(允许) me to try because he knew dancing was tough. He thought that I would give up in three months. However, I worked hard all the time.”
When Chen was 18 years old, he left China for America to study with Houston Ballet. In 2016, Chen became the first Chinese dancer there to play the role of the Nutcracker Prince there.
