Step 1 Review (3 mins) Ask Ss to review on what we have learned in the last class. Invite several of Ss explain the definition and the usage of definite articles. Review and improve their notes. Review what we have learned.
Step 2 Presentation& Practice (15 mins) Rules 4 Present the picture, and ask Ss to think about the questions on PPT. Lead Ss to work out the rules. Pair work: Ask Ss to work in pairs and complete the dialogue. Rule5&6 Ask Ss to observe the examples and work out rules on their own. T offers help if needed. Pronunciation: 辅音音素前读/ /;元音音素前读/ i/;表示强调时都读 / i / 1. Observe and work out the rules. 2. Pair work and display. 3. Listen and take notes. 1. To train Ss’ oral English. 2. To train Ss’ abilities to observe and transfer knowledge.
Step 3 Production (20 mins) Ask Ss to finish the following exercises on the worksheet. 1. Multiple choice 2. Blank filling Then, ask Ss to share their answers and explain the reasons. Finish the exercises and correct their answers. To consolidate Ss’ knowledge about the definite article.
