To summarize and consolidate some past simple irregular verbs and the new vocabulary.

Young adj. 年轻的
young是形容词,意思是“年轻的”,反义词是 old “年老的”。
He is very young but his grandfather is old.
他很年轻,但他的爷爷老了。
Let’s enjoy a story – How to train your dragon. Pay attention to the words in purple and red.
1. Hiccup, a little Viking boy, lived on the island of Berk.
2. He joined his town's fight against the dragons.
3. One day, Hiccup met the Night Furry – the most mysterious dragon. He called the dragon Toothless.
4. Hiccup and Toothless helped each other and became good friends.
5. Together, they started a long journey to save the dragons.
一般过去时用于表达过去的状态,过去的特征,过去的行为等,是故事,人物传记中的常用时态。时态的变化体现在动词形式的变化上,要特别注意不规则动词过去式。

一般过去时不规则动词
动词过去式规则的,在其后直接加-ed,不规则的需要单独记忆。不规则动词的过去式需要特殊记忆。
下面将常见的不规则动词的过去式总结如下:
1) 不变:
cost-cost hurt-hurt put-put
let-let read-read
2) 只变一个元音字母:
o-a come-came become-became
i-a begin-began drink-drank give-gave
ring-rang sing-sang swim-swam
i-o win-won drive-drove ride-rode
o-e throw-threw know-knew
a-e draw-drew fall-fell
e-o get-got forget-forgot
3) 只变一个辅音字母:
build-built has / have-had

make-made send-sent spend-spent
增加一个辅音字母:
hear-heard burn-burnt

4) 改变两个元音字母:

choose-chose feed-fed

5) 过去式含有ought / aught:

6) 情态动词:

7) 原形中有-ell:

不规则动词的一般过去时的否定形式:
We didn’t leave at nine o’clock in the morning.
我们不是早上9点钟离开的。
They didn’t swim in the swimming pool. They didn’t have a good time.
他们没在游泳池里游泳。他们玩得不开心。
He didn’t write any postcards and didn’t send any emails.
他没有写明信片,也没发电子邮件。(注意:some 要变成 any!)
一般疑问形式及其肯、否定回答:
Did you leave at nine o’clock in the morning
你们是早上9点钟离开的吗?
Yes, we did. / No, we didn’t.
是的,我们是。/不,我们不是。
Did they swim in the swimming pool

Ask and answer, then write a timeline and write notes on the timeline.

Write a paragraph about their lives. And then show your paragraph to the whole class.
Write the paragraph and do some drawings.
Step 7 Summary
记动词过去时态
动词一般过去时, 表示过去发生的事;
be用was或用were, have, has变had;
谓语动词过去式, 过去时间是标志;
一般动词加-ed, 若是特殊得硬记。
否定句很简单, 主语之后didn’t添;
疑问句也不难, did放在主语前;
如果谓语之前有did, 谓语动词需还原;
动词若是was, were, 否定就把not添。
