教学目标
Improve students' listening ability and master the phrasal verbs of this lesson.
教学重点
1.Learn and master more phrasal verbs.
2.Practice listening and speaking by using the target phrases.

Practice using phrasal verbs by listening and speaking.
教学用具
A guidance case,a tape recorder and multimedia.
教学过程:
Step 1 Lead in
1.Ask one or two students to retell the passage about Mario and Mary in 3a in Section A.
2.Have a dictation about the key words and phrasal verbs.
3.Show students other phrasal verbs and ask them to explain them in English.
Step 2 Cooperative inquiry
1.Ask students to read the sentences in 1a and match them with similar meanings.Then check the answers.
2.Ask students to look at the phrases in the box in 1b.Match the phrasal verbs with the nouns.Then make sentences with the phrases.Ask some students to give their answers.
3.Ask students to look at the four pictures in 1c.Try to think what the boy is doing.Then listen to the tape for the first time to get the main idea.Listen again and number the pictures [1 4] in the correct order in 1c.Then listen to the tape for the third time and check the answers.
4.Ask students to listen again and finish the task in 1d.
5.Let students role play a conversation between Jimmy and the reporter.Use the information in 1c and 1d.
6.Make a summary of this lesson,and do some exercises to consolidate the key points.
Step 3 Homework
1.Write a story using the vocabularies take after,fix up,repair and give away.
2.Preview the new words and expressions.

教学重点
1.Master key words,phrases and sentences.
2.Learn to guess the word's meaning by knowing the part of the speech.
教学难点
Be able to understand the passage by guessing the meanings of the words.
教学用具
A guidance case and multimedia.
教学过程:
Step 1 Lead in
Ask students the question:How do you usually thank someone who helps you?After that,ask students to discuss this question with their partners.Then ask some of them to give their answers.
Step 2 Cooperative inquiry
1.Ask students to read the letter in 2b and answer the questions:
(1)Who wrote the letter to Miss Li?Why
(2)What did Miss Li do
2.Ask students to read the passage slowly and carefully and underline the key words,phrases and sentences.The teacher explains their usages with PPT.
3.Let students look at the list of words in 2c.Circle the part of speech of each word and make their own sentences with those words.The teacher can give an example.Then ask students to give their answers.
4.Ask students to use the information in the letter to make true sentences by matching the different parts in 2d.Then show them the correct answers to check.
5.Ask students to discuss the questions in 2e with a partner.Ask students to give their answers after the discussion.
6.Make a summary of this lesson.And do some exercises to consolidate the key points.
Step 3 Homework
1.Write a short story about Ben Smith.
2.Finish the exercises of this lesson in the exercise book.

教学过程:
Step 1 Lead in
Ask students to finish the following passage with the proper words.
Ben Smith is a man.He has many in his life.He can't his or legs well. Some normal things like answering the telephone, and closing the doors, or things are difficult for him.But “Lucky”, the dog helper,makes to his life.Lucky is a fantastic dog.He is very and many English words.He can understand Ben when Ben gives him orders.
Step 2 Cooperative inquiry
1.Ask students to look at the picture of some kinds of volunteer work on the screen.Then finish the following items:
Can you add more?What would you like to do?Discuss it with a partner.
2.Ask students to write a letter or an e mail to the places they want to volunteer at according to 3b.
3.Show a sample writing of the e mail,and then talk about the key points of writing an e mail.
4.Ask students to fill in each blank with a possible verb to make a phrasal verb in Self Check 1. Fill in the blanks with the appropriate phrasal verbs or infinitives in Self Check 2.
5.Show the language points,and then talk about the key points in this lesson.
6.Writing:Talk about the key points of writing a topic composition.
7.Make a summary.
Step 3 Homework
1.Finish the exercises of this lesson on the exercise book.
2.Preview the new words in the next unit.
3.Have a free discussion about what you did in the last summer vacation.Record some interesting activities and write a composition.
教学反思
本节课的写作活动可以以小组活动的形式出现,让学生利用所给的框架进行写作练习,使得整个过程水到渠成。一方面让学生有写作思路,有内容可写,又不失兴趣;另一方面培养学生学习探究的好习惯。由于本课内容比较多,应该引导学生进行课前预习,这样才能更好地完成任务。
