1.exciting作形容词,意为“使人兴奋的;令人激动的”。excited作形容词,意为“激动的;兴奋的”。类似的词还有interest—interesting/interested、bore—boring/bored、tire—tiring/tired等。如:
I had an exciting school trip.我有一次激动人心的研学之旅。
I wasn't interested in the trip.我对这次旅行不感兴趣。
2.lovely作形容词,意为“可爱的;美好的”,它是由名词love加后缀-ly构成的派生词。类似的词还有friend—friendly、mother—motherly、day—daily、week—weekly、live—lively等。
3.expensive作形容词,意为“昂贵的”,它的同义词是dear,反义词是cheap。
4.fast作形容词或副词,意为“快的(地)”,它的同义词分别是quick(快的)、quickly(快地); 它的反义词分别是slow(缓慢的;迟缓的)、slowly(缓慢地)。
5.hear作动词,意为“听到;听见”,强调“听”的结果。listen作动词,强调“听”这一动作, listen to...意为“听……”。如:
Listen! Who is calling 听!谁在打电话
I'm listening to the teacher.我正在听老师讲课。
What did you hear 你听见了什么
类似的词还有see和look。see强调“看”的结果,look强调“看”这一动作,look at...意为“看……”。如:
I didn't see him this morning.今天早晨我没看见他。
Look! The bus is coming. 看!车来了。
Look at your book, please. 请看你的书。
6.I didn't like the trip at all. 我一点儿也不喜欢这次旅行。
not... at all意为“一点儿也不;完全不”。not在谓语动词前构成否定句,at all放在句尾。如:
They don't speak English at all after class. 在课下他们根本不讲英语。
另外,not at all还经常用在口语中,意为“不用谢;不客气;没关系;没什么”。如:
—Thank you very much.
—Not at all.
—It's very kind of you.
—Not at all.
—I'm sorry I'm a little late.
—Oh, not at all.
